Netflix's popular dating show Love is Blind returned with a brand-new season on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. It is a unique experiment that allows single men and women to interact with each other and form deep and meaningful connections, sight unseen. Separated by pods, the cast members embark on an eventful journey to find their ideal partner.

After going on multiple "blind" dates with each other, the bachelors and bachelorettes must decide if they want to leave the pods engaged. If they leave the pods hand-in-hand with a fiancé or fiancée, their next decision will be to figure out if marriage is in the cards for them.

In episode 1, No More Situationships, the pods were opened to the singles. Some cast members formed instant connections, while others struggled to trust the other person. Tyler and Ashley bonded over shared interests, meanwhile, Leo felt attracted to two women, Hannah and Brittany. One man faced rejection, losing his crush to another man.

The official synopsis of the episode said:

"The pods are officially open in Washington, DC! Some hopeful singles make instant connections, while others wrestle with feelings for multiple suitors."

What happened in Love is Blind season 7 episode 1?

At the start of the episode, hosts Vanessa and Nick Lachey greeted the cast members, inquiring them about their expectations from the experiment. While some wanted a partner willing to invest in a long-term relationship, others searched for an emotionally available individual.

Soon, the pods were opened, allowing the Love is Blind singles to begin their interactions. 31-year-old marketing director Ashley A. admitted it was difficult to find a committed partner at her age. She said that it felt like "tucking through the clearance rack" to find someone ideal. She always wanted to be in a successful marriage to set an example to her mother who had failed marriages.

Ashley A's first interaction was with Tyler. She appreciated his ability to display his vulnerability in front of her. The Love is Blind star deemed it to be attractive.

In another scene, 28-year-old Nick D introduced himself as sarcastic and flirty. The real estate agent claimed the experiment was the "best thing" he ever did since it allowed him to communicate with people from various walks of life. However, he confessed he had never been in love and to find his ideal partner in the pods made him feel nervous.

He immediately connected with Hannah, the youngest of the group, discussing his goals and ambitions. While talking to the cameras, Hannah revealed that she quit her job to be in the experiment, emphasizing how serious she was about finding love. After Nick D., she connected with art dealer Leo. Together they discussed their passion for traveling and exploration, hoping to interact more.

In a confessional, Leo shared that he inherited his art dealing business. It was a lucrative profession that attracted women, however, he came on to Love is Blind to find someone who wanted an emotional connection, not his money. In another segment, Brittany introduced herself as a "trophy wife," who could not maintain a long-term relationship.

"I could easily seduce any of these guys to fall in love with me and marry me. But I know what I want," Brittany said.

The Love is Blind star wanted to be with someone who prioritized her over everything else and knew how to cook. In another scene, physicist Garrett connected with Taylor. They bonded over their love for science and desire for a committed relationship.

The following day, Tim forged a connection with Alex, who shared how both of her parents suffered from multiple sclerosis (MS). Meanwhile, Tim revealed how his life took a turn after he lost both his sisters.

In another pod, Leo opened up about his family business, stating that women are usually drawn to him because of his money. Brittany reassured him that she was not one of them. They went on to discuss baby names.

Leo confessed before the Love is Blind cameras, that he felt "some connection" for two girls, Hannah and Brittany. Although Leo made Hannah "feel alive," she wanted to continue exploring connections. She forged a solid bond with Nick D., claiming him to be the love of her life.

In another scene, Garret and Taylor's interaction hit a rough patch. Garrett was disappointed by Taylor's "calculated" words as she refused to reveal her ethnicity. Despite that, he felt an "insane" connection with her.

In another pod, Tyler and Ashley A. had a deep conversation. Tyler got emotional opening up about his difficult childhood. He explained that his mother raised him on her own after being ostracized by her family for having children outside her race. After confessing his vulnerabilities to Ashley A., the Love is Blind star felt even more connected to her.

In the women's quarters, Hannah doubted if "smooth talker" Nick D. had the most genuine intentions for her. Meanwhile, Nick D. admitted Hannah was the one for him. On their next date, Hannah questioned his reasons to participate in the show. He explained he often could not prioritize love because of his job, but realized it was time to find a sincere connection and someone he could love unconditionally.

Hannah suspected he was only physically attracted to her. Although Nick D. dismissed her allegations, Hannah struggled to believe him. As a result, she ended her relationship with him. Later, she was shocked to hear that Brittany formed a strong relationship with Leo, who Hannah thought was her number one.
