The first episode of Love is Blind UK started with hosts Matt and Emma Willis greeting all the participants in their separate living quarters. While the hosts introduced themselves, Emma joked, “The surname is not a coincidence,” and everyone laughed.

"Welcome to the experiment that seeks to answer one very simple question - Is love blind? Here you will choose someone to marry without ever seeing them."

Freddie, a 32-year-old funeral director, almost shocked all his dates and laughed about his profession. Freddie’s first date was with Catherine, a 29-year-old dental nurse. She has loved his accent since he uttered his first sentence. They found many similarities in their choices and day-to-day activities, such as going to the gym twice daily.

"As a funeral director, I’m surrounded by death every day, which does scare people away. It has affected my dating. It limits how I can meet people. My love life’s been dead for a while," Freddie shared in the confessional.

Catherine’s second date was with Ollie, 32, who works in software sales. They liked each other’s voices and talked about how they spent their free time. Their mutual interest was kickboxing.

Ollie’s second date was with Demi, 30, a safeguarding and attendance manager who plays football on Sundays. They bonded over their mutual interest in boxing. She talked about basketball arcades, where “no one better” than her would be there. Ollie said he would beat her.

After returning to the female living quarters, Catherine shared that she “absolutely loved it.” Meanwhile, in the male living quarters, Ollie talked about Catherine with fellow male participants.

"Catherine’s giving more, like, sexual vibes rather than connection vibes." Ollie shared.

Fellow participant Charlie, 34, a gym general manager, shared that those are his vibes and that he would like Catherine. On the contrary, Catherine confessed that she “really liked” Ollie.

Sabrina, 35, Director of Marketing and Communications, described herself as a “hopeless romantic.” She had a date with Steven, 37, a gym owner. Sabrina was from Belfast and was ready to relocate to her future husband’s location. Steven shared that he owns a CrossFit gym. He asked Sabrina, “What makes you, YOO?” Sabrina described herself as,

"very adventurous, very spontaneous, but very considerate."

Steven loved all these qualities in Sabrina. He then shared about his meditation. Their mutual activity was gratitude journaling which they both loved. He felt his date with Sabrina went “incredible,” while Sabrina shared that they had the same routine, including meditation, gratituding, and more.

Next day on Love is Blind UK episode 1

On the second day of Love is Blind UK, Sam, a 31-year-old Product design manager, went on a date with Jasmine, a mental health nurse. They both enjoyed their date and found that they care a lot for other people. They talked about how they enjoy cuddles, kissing, and showing affection. At the end of their date, Sam told Jasmime to remember his name, “Sam from London.”
