Love is Blind: UK returned to Netflix with episodes 5-9 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. In a unique experience, where appearances played a secondary role, singles developed romantic connections by sharing their personal stories and their vulnerabilities.
Episode 8 featured a party where the six couples met with the other cast members. Sam Klein's return stirred relationship dynamics between Nicole and Benaiah. Freddie suspected Catherine's intentions when he found her flirting with Sam.
The official synopsis of episode 8, titled Guess Who's Back, read:
"The couples meet with the pod squad, seeing faces they hadn't seen in weeks - or at all. The return of one single stirs up drama for more than one pair."
Tom contemplated his connection with Maria upon interacting with his ex-flame Natasha at the party. While some couples struggled to tackle their relationships, others progressed as they sought approval from each other's families.
What happened in Love is Blind: UK episode 8?
The episode started with Nicole and Benaiah's conversation regarding Sam. Nicole wished to talk to Sam and return his ring and bracelet. However, her desire to "close that chapter" on a happy note, irked Benaiah. Hearing Nicole say that Sam would remain a part of their story, the Love is Blind: UK cast member hoped she moved on from him.
In another segment, Tom expressed concern regarding his mother's absence from his wedding. She refused to come because she could not understand how Tom could fall in love with someone so fast. It provoked Tom to reconsider his relationship with Maria.
Later at the party, Tom confided in Benaiah about Maria's views on wanting the man to cover all expenses in the "initial courtship phase." It was another reason that prompted the Love is Blind: UK star to second-guess his connection with Maria. In the meantime, Catherine complained to Maria about Freddie's lack of affection. Having different love languages bothered Catherine.
Soon Sharlotte and Natasha arrived followed by Sam. Benaiah coldly greeted him, hesitating to have a conversation with him. Meanwhile, Catherine told Freddie that Sam was a "spitting image" of her ex. When Freddie revealed he found Sharlotte attractive, it bothered Catherine, who then started flirting with Sam. She confessed she wanted "attention."
Their growing closeness made Freddie question his compatibility with his Love is Blind: UK partner.
During a private conversation with Nicole, Sam confessed it had not been easy for him to recover from her rejection. Nicole then returned the ring and his bracelet, stating that they were just too different from each other.
"If I keep it, then it's still weighing on Benaiah and I's relationship. So I wanna give it to you," said Nicole.
Watching Sam and Nicole end things on a positive note, bothered Benaiah. In the meantime, Natasha told Tom that she fell in love with him while they were in the pods. Tom admitted it was "difficult" to hear that because there were many "unresolved connections."
Benaiah mustered the courage to confront Sam about his intentions regarding Nicole. He accused him of being "disingenuous" and blamed him for disrespecting her. He was surprised when Sam revealed Nicole wished to get intimate with him while they were staying at his place.
The following morning, Maria was taken aback when Tom revealed that Natasha professed her feelings to him. The Love is Blind: UK star admitted it was not an appropriate thing to do. On the other hand, Benaiah struggled to overlook Nicole's past connection with Sam.
"Having that conversation with Sam was really difficult. Some things should be kept private whether true or untrue and this is a pretty big test. Probably the hardest test I've had with Nicole," said Benaiah.
Sabrina brought Steven to her hometown, Belfast, to introduce him to her mother, sister, and her friend, Clare. She warned him that they might appear "overprotective" only because she had unpleasant relationships in the past.
Sabrina's mother and sister seemed skeptical about Steven. They wondered if it was the "honeymoon period" that felt "too perfect." However, Steven reassured them that his feelings for Sabrina were genuine.
"I like Steven. And it's still a bit crazy, and it's still hard to see it being a thing. However, when you see them as a couple, you can see why they're engaged," said Sabrina's mother.
Back in London, Demi introduced Ollie to her family. In a private conversation with Demi's father, Ollie confessed that "he's very much in love with Demi." The Love is Blind: UK star reassured him that he would not come off as the overprotective partner who controlled his wife. He promised him that Demi was "in good hands."
Toward the end of the episode, Catherine questioned Freddie for asking her to stop being "bossy" and "snappy" all the time. The Love is Blind: UK star was taken aback when Freddie asked if she would be okay with him transferring his assets to someone else in the family before they got married.
"If you don't want to get married, just tell me," said Catherine.
Episodes 1-9 of Love is Blind: UK are currently streaming on Netflix.
