Love Is Blind UK recently premiered with the first four episodes of the popular Netflix social experiment, where 30 participants try to form an emotional connection with other participants in hopes of finding love. As per the concept of the show, the singles can only talk to other singles in a pod behind a wall and are not allowed to meet physically.
The fans of reality TV have seen various couples form a deep connection and even get engaged during this experiment and some fail miserably despite forming a special bond. In the latter situation, one such couple was Sam and Nicole, who were able to share a lot with each other about their families and friends. However, they failed to get engaged.
Sam proposed to Nicole inside the pods and despite their fair share of problematic moments, Nicole agreed to the proposal, After seeing each other for the first time, Nicole had an opposite reaction to the one she made in the pods as doubts crept in. Benaiah also was able to form a connection with Nicole and even warned her about Sam's intentions, which might have played a role in the couple's final fate.
What happened to Sam and Nicole in Love Is Blind UK?
Love Is Blind UK saw various participants trying to find their match, talking to different people. Sam and Nicole formed a good connection initially, but they also showed interest in other participants. Besides each other, Sam connected with Jasmine, and Nicole connected with Benaiah.
Sam explained his reasons for coming on the show as he has been invited to a lot of weddings recently and the next one that he wants to attend is his own. Both Jasmine and he shared that appearing on Love Is Blind UK gave them a chance to connect emotionally with someone, which is impossible in the real world because of social media.
Nicole herself shared a lot of similarities with Benaiah, with both wanting to explore "off-grid living" and trying to connect "mind, body, and spirit". Similar to Benaiah, she shared a bond with Sam as they felt connected talking about marriage and having kids.
After going on multiple dates with both Benaiah and Sam, Nicole eventually started to lean towards Sam because of Benaiah's hesitancy to get engaged through the experiment.
"But difficult for me to kind of give these assurances of, 'Oh, yeah, we have a connection, I can see us getting engaged'," stated Benaiah.
Sam, on the other hand, was ready to commit and gave all the right answers that Nicole wanted to hear from her partner. After hearing about the situation, Benaiah lets Nicole and Sam have their time together. He hears Sam insinuating about Nicole's weight negatively asks Steven if he should tell Nicole as he didn't intend to affect someone else's journey.
Benaiah tells Nicole everything and questions Sam's intentions with her, which prompts Nicole to confront Sam about the same. Sam rejects all claims made by Benaiah and suggests he's here for love and has fallen for her during this experiment. Tearfully, Nicole decided to believe Sam over Benaiah and chose Sam to get engaged with.
When it came to meeting for the very first time, Sam was elated, but doubts crept into Nicole's mind. She wasn't able to put the emotional side and the physical side of Sam together as Benaiah's words rang through her head. Although they did exchange rings, Nicole failed to reciprocate Sam's feelings.
The couple decided against flying to the honeymoon phase with the other five couples in Love Is Blind UK. In a confessional interview, Nicole admits to making a mistake when she chooses Sam over Benaiah.
"I made a mistake. And there's someone I need to talk to, and I owe them a huge apology because I really want to make things right with them. I need to follow my heart and there's no one else I'd want to spend my life with than Benaiah," said Nicole.
In the first batch of episodes, Nicole failed to find her partner, but as teased for later episodes, it seems Benaiah will make a return and another couple might join the others on Love Is Blind UK.
The next batch of episodes of Love Is Blind UK will air on Wednesday, August 14.
