Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star Trina reportedly married her partner, Benjamin Leon Kearse Jr., on May 22 in Miramar, Florida. According to the documents obtained by Essence, the rap icon (aka Katrina Taylor) tied the knot with her beau in a private ceremony. On June 28, the same publication also reported that the couple had filed for their marriage application in April.

Trina was recently interviewed by YouTuber Carlos King for his podcast, Reality With the King. In an episode that aired on June 4, she hinted at her life as a married woman for the first time and shared details of her relationship dynamic with Kearse (popularly known as Swurv).

When Carlos inquired if she was married, she confirmed her marital status, revealing that an official celebration was yet to occur.

"In my relationship now with my husband, we share a lot. To me, honestly, it's just a breath of fresh air being secure, confident in knowing and believing and trusting in how I feel," she said.

Kearse was featured momentarily in a few episodes of the latest season of Love & Hip-Hop: Miami. His chemistry with Trina was quite evident on-screen.

Calling Kearse her "husband", Trina shared insight on her "different" relationship with her partner during an interview with Carlos King. She stated her connection with him made her confident and gave her a sense of security, which made their bond more than "just a relationship."

Although the pair attempted to keep their wedding private, the rapper added that she did not mind it being publicized since she was content in her married life.

"You're seeing it, but I control my privacy, how I want it to be, as opposed to we're doing it because that's what people need to see. I don't care about that. If you see it, oh well, I'm not hiding. I'm happy. I'm confident. He's extremely confident," Trina stated.

The Miami rapper stated that being with Kearse felt like spending time with a best friend. Their marriage was built on their "friendship" which brought them closer. She got the opportunity to explore a different side of herself, of her lifestyle, when she started her journey with Kearse.

"As opposed to always being the baddest chick and always being on and all this stuff, I get to be at home, with no makeup, and just chill. It's a vibe, we can watch a movie all day. All the stuff I like, he likes, and I didn't really have that [before]," Trina added.

Kearse was featured in an episode of Love & Hip-Hop: Miami in February 2024, where Trina introduced him to her cousin, Joy. In that episode, she mentioned that she wanted her cousin to get to know the man she was in love with. The rapper's wedding news was met with congratulations from her fans.

Trina's past relationship

The acclaimed rapper was previously engaged to her then-boyfriend, fellow Miami rapper, Raymond "Ray Almighty" Taylor in 2021. Trina revealed the engagement during an Instagram live with health influencer, Stormy Wellington.

Their relationship came to an end. During an episode of Caresha Please with Yung Miami in 2023, she commented on the aftermath of her engagement's ending, and how she struggled to cope with the grief in her personal life. She also mentioned wanting to start a family but hesitated recalling her three miscarriages.

"Everything that happened to me just tore my life apart. I was just totally not in a happy space at all," she said.

Trina is now happily married to Kearse. On the work front, she has over 241K subscribers on YouTube, and her latest track, No Limit, was released six months ago.
