Season 6 of Love is Blind premiered on Netflix on 14th February 2020 leaving many fans curious about the Season 1 cast members after the captivating special episode, After the Altar.

Love is Blind quickly gained a following after its debut, due to its innovative and unconventional approach. The show follows individuals on a quest for true love, as they become engaged to their partners without ever seeing them. Following their engagement, they try to determine if they are truly meant to be together before taking the next step.

Love is Blind season 1 premiered on February 13, 2020. Among the 30 contestants, only six couples found true love after conversing through the mysterious "pods". As the season reached its end, only two couples, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton and Amber Pike and Matt Barnett were pronounced husband and wife at the Altar as they exchanged vows.

Matt and Amber got married at the end of season one. The couple celebrated their fifth anniversary in November 2023.

November 2018

The Love Is Blind experiment brought together Matt Barnett and Amber Pike who first crossed paths in the pods. Despite the challenges they faced, including fellow contestant Jessica Batton's attempt to win back Barnett's affection, their love persevered. They reached the altar and exchanged heartfelt vows, sealing their commitment with "I do."

February 2020

Love is Blind premiered on Netflix after being kept under wraps, captivating viewers with the love triangle drama involving Amber, Jessica, and Barnett. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on February 26, 2020, Amber reflected on past event and revealed that she found it amusing how people misunderstood what happened.

Despite appearing composed, she admitted that she was unaware of the situation when someone showed interest in her fiancé, Barnett. Amber clarified that she only knew about the reassurances the other person gave to Barnett, but nothing more.

Amber stated,

"Looking back at it, it's hilarious because a lot of people were saying, 'Wow, you really held your cool when she was throwing herself at your fiancé,' but I had no idea. What she was saying to Barnett, like, 'Oh my god, I would never [come between you two],' that's what I was hearing,"

Remembering their time in the pods during the reality show, The Love is Blind star talked about the strong bond among the female participants. She emphasized the supportive and honest relationship they had, highlighting their understanding and unity throughout the unique experiment they were part of at the show.

July 2021

The Love is Blind couple marked their second year of marriage by reuniting with the cast during the filming of After the Altar. During the celebration, Jessica approached them and presented them with Tiffany's bag containing champagne glasses as an anniversary gift. However, Barnett decided not to accept it.

November 2023

The couple reached yet another significant milestone in their relationship, marking their fifth wedding anniversary. This makes them one of the few couples from Love is Blind who have managed to stay strong and committed.

Amber took to Instagram to mark the occasion by posting a video montage of the couple, captioning it:

"5 years later and somehow I really do love you more today than the day we said “I do...I love you Matthew Donovan Barnett. I appreciate you and I am thankful for how you love me. Happy Anniversary my Bumblebee, 5 years down and a lifetime more to look forward to."
