Love Is Blind: Brazil season 4: Renata questions Alexandre's lack of affection

Love Is Blind: Brazil season 4 released on June 19, 2024, on Netflix. On June 26, fans were treated to four brand-new episodes. In these episodes, the couples met each other's families and friends and visited their homes to learn more about their partners. Before beginning their married life together, these interactions proved to be eye-openers for many.

Among the couples were Renata Giaffredo and Alexandre Thomaz, who had a rocky start to their relationship on Love Is Blind: Brazil season 4. In episodes 6 and 7, Renata expressed her concerns about Alexandre's personality and spoke about his lack of affection.

"I feel that [at] any sign of affection, you start pulling back, you know. I can't read you yet," Renata expressed.

She also doubted his intention to get married. With the show's end drawing near, she believed it would be wise to hear the input of his family members and friends to resolve any reservations she might harbor.

Renata and Alexandre's relationship did not start in the best way possible. While Renata was rather fixated on appearances, Alexandre thought her worldview was narrow. He criticized her for judging other people based on their looks, and called her 'cocky.'

Unsure about whether to take their relationship to the next level outside the pods, the Love Is Blind: Brazil season 4 couple faced some obstacles. The duo then apologized to each other, made amends, and soon, confessed their feelings, leading to their engagement.

In episode 6, Alexandre and Renata prepared for a get-together with the former's friends. Before his friends arrived, Renata confronted him about his lack of affection. She not only wanted him to be "sweeter," but requested him to show more of himself emotionally.

"It's not about you being sweeter. It's more like, I want you to give more of yourself, you know, like, be more open with me," Renata said.

Seeing Alexandre not express his feelings made Renata question his love for her. For her, emotional communication played a significant role in a relationship. However, Alexandre struggled to understand her stance.

Soon, Alexandre's friends clarified that he preferred expressing his love through actions rather than words.

In episode 7, the couple's conversation took a turn for the worse when Alexandre accused his partner of having unresolved feelings about her past relationship which he believed made her feel uneasy in her present one.

Renata confessed she was "hung up" on certain aspects of her past, but had moved on and developed genuine feelings for Alexandre.

The following morning, Alexandre took Renata to meet with his family. During the meeting, he brought up their argument and stated that Renata did not consider him much of a romantic. Hearing that, Alexandre's sister confessed that this was a common trait in the family. She mentioned they preferred being practical rather than emotional.

"He's afraid to let people see what's inside of him. To show his inner self. I'm like that too. I think we're both very rational. And because we focus on using our heads, we end up not expressing our true feelings," Alexandre's sister said.

After hearing her speak about Alexandre, Renata felt reassured. In her confessional, she said she felt welcomed and comfortable around Alexandre's family. Love Is Blind: Brazil fans are now eager to see what fate has in store for the couple.
