Love Is Blind Habibi premiere recap: Pods open up as eligible Arab singles seek love

Love Is Blind premiered yet another spin-off in its ever-growing franchise with the release of Love Is Blind Habibi on October 10, 2024. The show will feature various singles from the Middle East who are hoping to find the love of their life through the experiment. Just like the previous iterations, the cast will have to interact behind walls as they build emotional connections through their voices.

Over the course of nine episodes, conversations get intense, emotions become deeper, proposals are made, and which couple ultimately ties the knot will be revealed. The diverse cast members hail from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, and Iraq.

The cast of Love Is Blind Habibi includes, Safa, Khatab, Nour, Rami, Hajar, Mohammad, Asma, Karim, Sarah, Chafic, Yasmin, Mido, Dounia, Ali, Aljawharah, Simo, Karma, Ammar, Shereen, and Rakan. The hosts of the shows are Saudi actress and TV personality Elham Ali and her husband Khaled Saqer. The synopsis of the premiere episode reads:

"First impressions mean everything when a diverse group of eligible Arab singles are introduced for the first time - completely sight unseen."

What happened in the Love Is Blind Habibi premiere episode?

As the episode started, the cast was introduced to the living quarters with men and women living in separate areas. The hosts described the rules to the singles of Love Is Blind Habibi and explained that they should try to form an emotional connection despite different nationalities.

The cast of Love Is Blind Habibi soon started mingling in the pods which resulted in some surprising conversations. Karim managed to irk Nour when he asked the latter if she would be open to him marrying more than one woman.

Khatab also got into a war of words with a female contestant, but later resolved the issue by agreeing to not meet again.

Dounia introduced herself on Love Is Blind Habibi as someone who has remained single her whole life due to not being able to open up emotionally. She met Chafic with whom she connected on the fact that they were both French-educated and not fluent in Arabic.

They soon found out that they had a lot of common points as their date progressed and Dounia even praised Chafic when they went back to their respective lounges.

Dounia wasn't the only one who was impressed by Chafic's French accent, Nour and Hajar also sang praises of him. Ammar was able to swoon Karma with his singing, to which the latter said, "Are you the man of my dreams?" Ammar later asked his "little brother" Chafic on Live Is Blind Habibi to not go after Karma, which he agreed to.

Mohammad introduced himself as a ladies' man and claimed to have had a change of heart recently and wanted to find love. He felt strongly for Safa who also impressed Karim as they talked about intimate details about each other.

Safa opened up about her father's passing to Karim, who is younger than Safa. The latter claimed that he did not care about her age because they connected emotionally.

Later in the pods, Karma and Ammar met again. The latter gifted Karma his favorite songs which seemingly moved her. The two exchanged a playful exchange when Karma teased Ammar about singing for someone else.

This prompted Ammar to also playfully suggest that he was upset and would come over right now, which Karma appreciated.

"What I like most about Ammar is his sense of humor. He made me laugh so much during our date. He has a beautiful heart. Karamella has fallen in love," stated Karma.

Later, Chafic reached the pods to talk to a randomly selected single for a date on Love Is Blind Habibi. To his surprise, it was Karma who introduced herself to him. Chafic walked out after apologizing to her and explained in the confessional that he did not intend to betray Ammar despite liking Karma.

In a different pod, Safa finds out that both Mohammad and Karm have fallen for her.

Simo failed to connect with anyone from the pods, even walking out mid-conversation with one of the ladies. Hajar managed to find a lot of common things with him, even sharing the fact that they had a twin sibling. But Simo felt more connected to Yasmin due to having similar childhoods with divorced parents.
