Love Island USA bombshell Sydney Leighton calls Catherine a “pick me” girl

The Casa Amor segment of Love Island USA season 6 has been making headlines because of all the heartbreaks it has caused and the new relationships that are built. While the segment has ended, in its aftermath, it is still making news as new bombshells from the villa are trying to adjust to the volatile environment around them.

Sydney Leighton and Catherine Marshall were two of the bombshells who entered the show, with Catherine even making it to the villa while Sydney was dumped. However, when the two were in the Casa, they were never on great terms.

During her recent appearance on The Challenge star Johnny Bananas podcast, The Ringer Reality TV Podcast, she opened up about her co-star. Bananas had asked Sydney if any of the women in the Casa were faking it to get into the villa, in an attempt to get some insights into what happens in there.

The bombshell from Love Island USA season 6 bombshell didn't initially name Catherine but did call her a "pick-me girl." When Bananas asked her who she was referring to, Sydney confirmed that it was Catherine.

"One girl who was definitely, like very, doing it, was basically, in my eyes was definitely a pick-me girl," the reality star said.

In a conversation with Johnny Bananas' on his podcast, Love Island USA's bombshell, Sydney discussed the pressure on the girls in Casa Amor. She told him that the Casa girls definitely tried hard to spark chemistry with the men because only then would they be able to go back to the villa. However, if that didn't happen, they would have to end their run on the show and go home.

Sydney added that it was hard to bond with others because they had to establish an emotional connection while being physically affectionate, all within the stipulated time. Johnny followed this up by asking if there were any specific girls in the Casa in who were faking it to make it to the villa, and she named Catherine.

"Pick me, chose me, love me, bring me back to the villa. Even if as, if we're, friends," the Love Island USA bombshell said.

Sydney added that she was talking to Daia and rhetorically asked if Catherine was series, referring to the time when Catherine became close to Kenny, knowing Sydney also was into him. Leighton told Bananas what she said to Daia, that Catherine was mingling with Kenny despite Sydney sitting right there.

The Love Island USA season six contestant also told Johnny about an incident from the last day of Casa Amor when they only had 20 minutes before the day ended. She said that she went up to Kenny, telling him to go with his heart, which Leighton claimed was contrary to what Catherine was trying to do.

The Love Island USA bombshell, who was eliminated from the show on episode 22, said that she left it up to Kenny, and wasn't sure if he did so. However, Kenny didn't, since he recoupled with Catherine and took her to the villa. This threatened JaNa's position and even hurt her. However, some fans believed that Kenny could have reflected on what Sydney told him when he was in a dilemma about choosing between JaNa and Catherine.

JaNa was disappointed in Kenny when he returned with Catherine because she didn't mingle with any of the men in the girl's Casa Villa out of respect for Kenny. She was also ready to leave the show if Kenny didn't pick her. After a lot of back and forth, Kenny realized that his connection with JaNa was stronger than his connection with Catherine, so he decided to let the latter go.
