A short teaser for curious fans was put out by Love Island USA's official YouTube site on June 5. The teaser focused on the 10 original contestants who will be entering the villa in the first episode, keeping the bombshells a surprise, like every previous season.
In it, each of the 10 contestants described themselves to the audience as well as what they were looking for in the Love Island USA villa. The five girls entering the villa are Serena, JaNa, Hannah, Leah, and Kaylor. The five men are Kordell, Coye, Aaron, Robert, and Kendall.
These 10 contestants will have to pair with each other until the bombshells show up and break their relationships to make their own. The teaser entices the expecting fans and serves as a reminder of the heartbreak and politics to come.
Apart from the teaser, the show's official YouTube channel also has a video introducing the new host, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, and a video of her answering 24 questions about the show.
Three major takeaways from the new teaser of Love Island USA season 6
1) The contestants have some interesting quirks
The contestants this season of Love Island USA seem to have some very unique characteristics, which add to the already gripping plotline of the show. Serena boasts a high-pitched laugh, which she says could be heard from seven countries away, while Coye is 6'8 and says, "Big feet, big meat."
Hannah is very chatty and says that she can talk to a wall. Aaron, on the other hand, says he's a mom's boy and shares everything with his mom. Leah says she is ready to go feral because she hasn't been with a guy in seven months now.
In a unique twist, Robert says he catches sakes for a living, while Kaylor says she hails from a town that has a population of only 6,000. Kendall thinks a girl can't reject him in the villa because he believes his "rizz is a 10 out of 10."
2) Some of the matches are already apparent
The teaser had the matches arranged in a way that the fans could already see them matching. Starting with Serena, she says she is okay dating a "short king" because she thinks they could be confident, which is cut to Kordell, who admits that he is a "short king" and is very confident.
JaNa and Coye's match is also apparent when JaNa says her preference is a tall man, who should at least be higher than 6'1 and go up to 6'7; her scene gets cut short by Coye, who says he is 6'8.
Leah says she loves animals and that she couldn't be with someone who doesn't like them, which is apparent from her Instagram. Robert features after Leah and says he catches snakes for a living, which makes him an obvious match for her.
The four remaining contestants who didn't have any striking similarities were Kaylor, Kendall, Hannah, and Aaron. Now, it is for the fans to see if the matches apparent in the teaser hold up on the show or if the opposites attract.
3) Release date and streaming platform revealed
The release date for Love Island USA was revealed at the end of the teaser to be June 11. The episodes will be made available on demand on Peacock. Even though the exact time of the episode drop is unknown, it will be tracked after the first few episodes are released.
New episodes of Love Island USA season 6 will come out six days a week, except for Saturdays, exclusively on Peacock. Even though the platform doesn't offer a free trial, its subscription is reasonable as compared to its contemporaries. A base subscription for the streaming service starts at $5.99 a month and goes to $11.99 for an ad-free version.
All the previous seasons of Love Island USA can be streamed on Peacock.
