Love Island USA season 6 ended on Sunday, July 21, 2024. In the finale, host Ariana Madix declared Serena and Kordell winners of season 6. Leah and Miguel were in second place, with JaNa and Kenny in third place, and Kendall and Nicole in fourth.
Love Island USA season 6 saw many couples form early and promise a lasting future. While some such couples managed to sustain their relationships till the end, others succumbed under pressure.
Leah Kateb and Rob Rausch were one such couple who displayed a promising connection as they paired up on day one of the show. However, their relationship was not without problems. Once "bombshell" Andrea Carmona expressed an interest in Rob, the latter started reconsidering his connection with Leah.

Eventually, Rob recoupled with Andrea, marking the end of his relationship with Leah.
Leah chose to couple up with Rob in episode 1 of Love Island USA season 6
While introducing herself, Leah said she loved animals, especially snakes, because they were often misunderstood. It was almost an instant click as Rob revealed he was a snake wrangler by profession.
During a kissing challenge in the first episode, Rob chose to kiss Leah when he was prompted to pick a person who gave "red flag vibes." When Leah asked him if he still thought she was a "red flag" after the kiss, Rob gave an ambiguous answer.
"No, no, actually, definitely, probably, maybe. I don't know. I'm trying to figure it out,' said Rob.
After the challenge, Leah went straight to Rob, choosing him as her Love Island USA partner. Rob was satisfied having Leah by his side and said her name had a "nice ring to it."
"I think it was just giving, like, very, like, s*xy Wall Street banker," said Leah.
The couple talked about several things and connected over their love for animals. The other cast members deemed them compatible since both shared an atypical sense of humor.
"Bombshell" Liv Walker arrived on day two and coupled up with Rob. Leah was devastated, but Rob reassured her of his feelings, sneaking her away from the rest to have private meetings with her. Liv saw them kissing during one of their meetings at the dock and decided to cut all ties with Rob.
She eventually recoupled with Hakeem, while Rob reunited with Leah. However, their happiness was short-lived. During a challenge in episode 4, Leah chose to kiss Kendall instead of Rob, which bothered the latter. He felt upset and uncertain about his connection with her.
Although he overlooked the incident, doubts remained in his mind. In episode 6, Ariana introduced "bombshells" Andrea Carmona and Nicole Jacky to the islanders. While the men were blindfolded, each newcomer was asked to kiss two islanders of their choice.
Andrea kissed Rob and Aaron. The following day, she went on two dates, one with each of them. During her date with Rob, Andrea confessed that she felt attracted to him and wanted him to pursue a relationship with her. They ended their date with a kiss.
When Leah heard they kissed, she was heartbroken but tried to overlook the situation.
"I'm trying really hard not to be petty after hearing this and I'm going to try really hard not to because I'm 24 f**king years old and we don't play child's games anymore. But it's obviously not fun to hear that your couple kissed someone and he had a wonderful time with her," said Leah.
Meanwhile, Rob admitted to Andrea that he was drawn to her and had a "good feeling" about them. Soon, Leah and Rob talked about the status of their relationship, which turned into a bitter argument. Leah tried to make Rob understand how hurt she felt, whereas Rob blamed her for not trusting him.
"I think I've always told her how I felt, but she doesn't trust me. I felt invisible. It didn't matter what I said. We were just going in circles and I felt like I was hurting her, and there was nothing I could do and I just felt like she didn't believe me," said Rob.
Rob walked away mid-argument and took a dip in the pool. His Love Island USA partner was surprised by his reaction, and confessed that he gave her "the ick." At the next recoupling ceremony, Rob recoupled with Andrea, leaving Leah single.
To distract herself from the breakup, the Love Island USA star recoupled with, JaNa's partner, Connor. However, their spark faded once Leah realized she was not romantically attracted to him. In the meantime, Andrea was eliminated after receiving the lowest number of votes.
Rob was ready to leave with Andrea but ultimately decided not to. He accused Leah of influencing the others to evict Andrea. Although she refuted the allegation, Rob stood his ground and was supported by Liv and Kaylor. The arguments and the suspicion drove them apart to the point of no reconciliation.
JaNa urged Rob to reconnect with Leah, but Rob rejected the idea since he felt too apprehensive about the reunion.
Leah was eventually approached by Love Island USA "bombshell" Miguel. She approved of him and recoupled with him, leading to Connor's elimination. Meanwhile, Rob coupled up with another newcomer, Cassidy.
While Leah and Miguel developed a strong connection, Rob struggled to form a bond with anyone else. After Cassidy's elimination, Rob coupled up with Daniela from Casa Amor but broke up with her after they returned to the main villa. Lastly, Rob was paired with Love Island USA season 5 alum Kassy.
However, after receiving an underwhelming number of votes, Rob and Kassy were eliminated with Kaylor and Aaron. Leah was upset to see Rob leave and in their final chat, they wished each other well, hoping to remain friends.
"I really care about you. I really do, and I really, really, wish you the best. And it didn't work out for us, like, romantically, but I really do hope that we get to stay friends," said Rob.
Although Leah admitted she never "stopped caring" about him, she wanted to focus all her attention on Miguel. Leah and Miguel entered the Love Island USA finale and secured the runners-up position.
Love Island USA season 6 reunion is set to be released on Monday, August 19, 2024.
