"Made me have doubts"— Love Is Blind Habibi star Khatab recalls first meeting Asma on the reunion

Netflix has a catalog filled with various reality shows and Love Is Blind is one of them. The dating reality franchise released yet another spin-off, Love Is Blind Habibi. Like its predecessor, it featured various singles who tried to find their life partners by participating in the pods when it premiered on October 10, 2024.

The show included participants from the MENA region, including countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Tunisia. The reunion episode for the show was released on November 1, 2024, and welcomed back six couples who got out of the pods with a partner.

Those six couples were Chafic and Dounia, Mido and Nour, Khatab and Asma, Ammar and Karma, Safa and Mohammad, and Simo and Hajar. Although Khatab and Asma didn't marry each other due to contributing factors like Asma's parents not attending the wedding, they made it to the altar in the finale.

The reunion episode was hosted by the real-life couple, Khaled Saqer and Elham Ali. They asked Khatab what he thought of Asma when they first met in the pods to which he replied that despite bonding fast with her, he wasn't sure where the relationship would go.

"Asma was my number one from the start. When we first left the pods, I felt shocked because the reveal was a shock. When I first saw Asma, she was stressed. I couldn't figure out why. That made me have doubts," said Khatab.

Asma became speechless after seeing Khatab for the first time on Love Is Blind

Asma defended herself by claiming that people outside the pods didn't know how it felt to connect with someone in the experiment. She claimed that she became speechless after seeing Khatab for the first time on Love Is Blind Habibi because the situation became overwhelming and a lot of questions ran through her mind.

She maintained that her reaction wasn't related to Khatab or his looks. As mentioned earlier, Asma's parents decided to skip the wedding. She addressed the issue and explained that despite their decision, she didn't want to ruin the experience of the experiment.

"I had hope, and I didn't want to ruin my experiment," stated Asma.

Khatab also chimed in and revealed that he anticipated her parents skipping the ceremony. The Love Is Blind Habibi star revealed that he was 80% sure Asma was going to say no to the marriage on the altar. He was also worried that she might say yes, which was a problem as he was a man who strictly followed customs and traditions.

The former couple revealed that they had tried to stay together after the filming was over which lasted only a month. Khatab confided that the real-life struggles like his demanding job were too much for the couple. He recalled that during the show he maintained his stance of always wanting a partner who could harmonize with his lifestyle.

Claiming to work from 6 am to 3 am the next day, Khatab revealed on Love Is Blind Habibi that they didn't see eye to eye in those situations as the communication between the two also suffered due to work. The couple decided that it would be in their interest to stay as friends and move on.

Khatab concluded the conversation at the reunion by wishing her luck as according to her she was a "respectful girl" and deserved the best. Asma also wished Khatab good luck in finding his life partner and mentioned that he had a "huge heart". She also expressed gratitude for taking part in the Love Is Blind Habibi experiment with Khatab.
