Barbara Corcoran, the well-known real estate mogul and investor on Shark Tank, recently opened up about aging and the choices she has made to embrace it, during an interview on the YouTube channel Sprouht.

Hosted by William Rossy on December 15, 2024, the candid conversation revealed details about the investor's life at 75, including her decision to undergo three facelifts. Corcoran described these surgeries as a way to feel younger, explaining,

“I’ve made some important choices actually. I’ve had three facelifts... It makes me feel younger because I look younger.”

Alongside discussing her personal life, Corcoran shared insights into her resilience, the lessons she learned from past failures, and how she continues to surround herself with youthful energy through her staff and family.

In her interview with William Rossy, Barbara Corcoran shared her thoughts on being 75, as she acknowledged that aging can be difficult but expressed her ability to stay active and competitive, even outperforming others in activities like skiing. She noted that while some days make her feel much older, on most days she feels decades younger, maintaining an energetic outlook.

The conversation also explored Corcoran’s most defining failure, which occurred early in her career. She recounted how her then-boyfriend, who initially loaned her $1,000 to start her business, ended their relationship and married her secretary. Reflecting on that challenging time, Corcoran shared,

“She [the secretary] was younger and prettier than me, and it was a really hard hit. I recovered, but it wasn’t so easy.”

When asked about the lesson she learned from that experience, Corcoran remarked,

“You’ll always see the upside looking back, and you can’t see that at the moment... If he hadn’t met her, I wouldn’t have started the Corcoran Group. I wouldn’t have had the success I have. So thank God that all happened.”

She encouraged listeners to find the “bright" side of setbacks and to use failures as stepping stones for future success.
