“Major playboy vibes”: Love is Blind Mexico fans call out Chema’s behavior on the show

Love is Blind Mexico was a stellar addition to the library of international Love is Blind versions on Netflix, which includes Sweden, Japan, and Brazil, among others. The Mexican twist to the popular experiment hit the screens on August 2 and saw a handful of 30 contestants find connections worthy enough to get engaged.

Chema and Sylvia's connection was among those. They had sparks flying from their very first dates, which culminated in Chema going on one knee for someone he had never seen.

Fans of Love is Blind Mexico have been keeping a close eye on each player's behavior and some traits Chema exhibited seemed like red flags to them. Some took to X to express how they felt about him, while others called him out on things they didn't deem appropriate.

"Watching this first ep I might be wrong but Chema is giving me major playboy vibes," one fan said.

"Chema looks like every bad guy in a telenovela," said another.

"FR and said he got his FWB knocked up. Like um what?? This man does not want commitment," one comment read.

"Chema: Before I think about a woman’s heart, I need to see what she looks like," another read.

Some fans disapproved of how he treated Sylvia, while others called Sylvia out for enabling him.

"I just can’t with Chema! He seems so damn full of himself and Silvi needs to stop being so damn needy," one user wrote.

"Definitely keep doing your passion! It was just crazy to me how Silvia was getting judged for her job when your job isnt really conventional either haha," another user wrote.

"Girl Sylvia is not paying attention to Chema at all he has said multiple times that he is only interested in looks!" one Tweet read.

"I’m not liking how Gerardo and Fernanda are thinking they’re the best couple, super opinionated too also, hating how most of them think that Chema and Silvia are not going to make it. I’m convinced it’s because of how she looks," another read.

What happened after Chema and Sylvia saw each other for the first time on Love is Blind Mexico?

After palpable chemistry on every single date of theirs, it was clear that Chema and Sylvia were heading towards marriage. By episode 3 of Love is Blind Mexico, Chema proposed and they were engaged. Before their faces were revealed to each other, Chema was sitting in the waiting room, where he said,

"The truth is I'm nervous right now because I'm very picky when it comes to a woman's physical appearance. So let's see if I'm gonna get my heart broken or not. I'm super nervous".

All his worries seemed to vanish once he saw Sylvia because he found her beautiful. He complimented her smile and her big eyes. Sylvia said she was nervous, Chema acknowledged that and quipped,

"I would have been like that if I met me too".

On the honeymoon episode 4 of Love is Blind Mexico, Chema, and Sylvia enjoyed each other's company as they gelled in with other contestants of the show. Now it is for the upcoming episodes to see what goes on between them before they hit the altar.
