Love is Blind: Germany premiered on January 3, 2025, on Netflix. The reality franchise flew to Europe and introduced a new batch of singles, hoping to find love that focused on emotional connection rather than physical appearances.
The singles went on multiple dates to discover who they connected with the most. By the end of episode 3, Sally and Medina felt a strong bond with each other and decided to get engaged.
While they were happy to see each other for the first time, things didn't play out as they expected. Medina felt a bit awkward by the way his Love is Blind: Germany partner was looking at him and couldn't control his laughter.
"Stop looking at me like that," he told her.
Meanwhile, Sally didn't like the fact that he was laughing at her and expressed to him that it was making her insecure.
"Your laughing's making me insecure," she said.
Love is Blind: Germany star Sally leaves the show after feeling uncertain about her connection with Medina
Love is Blind: Germany stars Sally and Medina got engaged at the end of episode 3. However, the two contestants were nervous when it was time to meet each other for the first time. Sally expressed in her confessional that she was wondering if Medina would find her beautiful or not, noting that she wasn't "everyone's type."
"I'm definitely wondering if he'll think I'm beautiful or if he'll find me attractive. I mean, I'm not everyone's type," she said.
Meanwhile, Medina expressed in his confessional that the "worst thing" that could happen to him would be to find out that Sally wasn't his type in terms of her appearance.
"I feel that the worst thing that could happen right now would be for the doors to open and for her to absolutely not be my type," the Love is Blind: Germany star said.
When the doors opened to reveal each other's faces, they were overjoyed to see one another. Medina got down to one knee to put a ring on her finger and two later sat to reflect on their engagement. However, they had nothing to say and were just looking at each other.
Throughout their meeting, Medina frequently burst into laughter at the way Sally was looking at him. Sally, however, felt uncomfortable and expressed that it made her feel insecure.
After leaving the meeting area, Sally felt that the interaction was "awkward". She later added in her confessional that she didn't feel like she knew the person that she had just met and described it as meeting a "stranger". The Love is Blind: Germany star left the set after the segment, breaking her engagement with Medina in the process.
Meanwhile, Medina was disappointed and frustrated when he heard about the news. He acknowledged that he had sensed her uncertainty earlier, particularly during their hug, which gave him the impression that something wasn’t right.
Regardless, he felt it was wrong that Sally left the show and him without having an open conversation with him about their issues. To him, her decision to leave without any discussion seemed final and made it clear that their connection wasn’t strong enough to continue.
"That most likely means she's left the experiment early. Honestly, I think it's a shame, but I could already feel it. I could feel her uncertainty when we hugged each other. But I don't think it's right for her to just leave the set without even… talking it through. That just shows me, okay… no," he said.
Love is Blind: Germany episodes 1-4 are available on Netflix.
