Katie Maloney believes that Vanderpump Rules is no longer the same due to the "fractured" dynamic among the cast. In the December 4 episode of the Disrespectfully podcast, she explained that the show's appeal came from the cast's collective dynamic, and without that connection, it wouldn't have the same impact.

She further explained that while most cast members still interact and stay in touch in smaller groups or pairs, they no longer come together as a "cohesive unit."

"As far as the show itself... I think I understand it. I think that the group and the dynamic and what makes this show, that show would be hard to do because it was so fractured at the end there and many of us don't hang out," she said.

Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney had plans to leave the show before the reboot announcement

Vanderpump Rules is set to undergo a major reboot, with the entire cast being replaced for the upcoming season 12.

The Bravo show star Katie Maloney claims that she had plans to leave the show months before the reboot announcement was made. She told the Disrespectfully podcast host that many people close to her already knew that she wasn't planning on returning.

“Maybe it doesn’t matter at this point, but I had made a decision months ago after this past season. I mean, I just needed to move on with my life. And this is before we knew the show was gonna be put on pause, before any of that,” she added.

Maloney shared that she made the decision after the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion episodes and even informed the producers that she was planning on leaving.

The Vanderpump Rules star expressed that she felt personally ready to move on from the reality series because her life was moving in a different direction. She was "mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually" prepared to do so and noted that cameras had followed her for a long time and were a major part of her life.

“[I] lived many lives [and] went through so much on that show, but I don’t know, I just got to a point where I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can live and grow and be the version of myself I want to be on this show any longer,'” she continued.

Despite her desire to leave the show, she admitted that the end of the Bravo series felt surreal, weird, and sad to her.

Andy Cohen feels rebooting Vanderpump Rules was the "absolute right thing to do"

In the December 2 episode of his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live, Andy Cohen broke his silence on the Vanderpump Rules reboot announcement, stating that revamping the show was the "absolute right thing to do."

"Bravo announced, or word got out, that they are revamping the show and I have to say, this is, first of all, the absolute right thing to do. I am so impressed with how production kept the show going over the last, I'm gonna say four years, when slowly but surely none of them were working at SUR," he said.

Cohen felt that the entire point of the show "morphed and changed" as it went on. He felt that James Kennedy was the only cast member with "any kind of footprint at SUR."

He added that the season 11 finale seemed to be the perfect way to say goodbye.

"If you look at the last episode of last season... it really did [conclued], watch the last ten minutes or five minutes, it felt like an absolute series finale. So, congratulations," he continued.

Vanderpump Rules episodes are available on Bravo.
