What happened between Shannon and Tamra in The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18?
Shannon Beador and Tamra Judge's tumultuous friendship has been a focal point in The Real Housewives of Orange County for the past few seasons. Following Shannon's DUI arrest, Tamra repeatedly criticized her despite their brief reconciliation earlier in the season.
The tension escalated during the cast's trip to London, where Tamra implied that Shannon was playing the victim in her legal dispute with John Janssen and Alexis Bellino.
The drama reached a boiling point at Shannon's 60th birthday dinner, which ended with her storming out. In season 18, episode 15, Tamra faced backlash for speaking negatively about her castmates, and Shannon confronted her about it during dinner.
Shannon questioned why Tamra hadn't shared the text message proving Alexis's involvement in the 2018 lawsuit against them. Tamra deflected, saying it was between Shannon and Alexis.
Emily Simpson pointed out the double standard in how Tamra and Heather treated Shannon versus Alexis. Emily expressed confusion over why Tamra and Heather consistently gave Alexis a free pass while holding Shannon to a higher standard. This observation mirrored the views of many viewers.
At the dinner table, Shannon accused Tamra of constantly highlighting her flaws. She pleaded with Tamra to stop discussing her, but Tamra retaliated, claiming Shannon had a larger ego and was refusing to pay John $75,000 to avoid looking bad.
The argument escalated, with Tamra waving her hand in Shannon's face, prompting Shannon to warn her never to raise her hand again. The confrontation highlighted the deep-seated issues in their friendship.
Even before the latest season of The Real Housewives of Orange County started, Tamra and Shannon had a feud as the former posted a video on her social media accounts on July 10, 2024. In the video, Tamra claimed that her co-star and former friend Shannon Storms Beador had inadvertently liked a message before quickly unliking it.
According to Tamra, Shannon was reviewing old text messages between them, seemingly searching for evidence to use during her scheduled appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen later.
Shannon was supposed to make an appearance on Watch What Happens Live just before the season 18 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Tamra implied that Shannon was digging up old conversations dating back two years, to potentially use against her.
