After starting their relationship online, over the internet, the couple are ready to meet each other.
The TLC reality show covers the journey of the couple meeting their other halves for the first time and deciding whether to continue their relationship or call it quits.
One of the couples in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 was Niles and Matilda. Niles is from Alabama, while Matilda is from Ghana. The two met online and started dating after being pen pals for some time. After finding that Matilda had everything he wanted from a partner, Niles proposed to her.
Niles decided to fly to Ghana to meet Matilda for the first time. Matilda hoped to get married at the end of his Ghana trip; however, Niles wasn't ready. In episode 4, the Alabama native told her he needed more time. He came up with a good idea to deflect Matilda's instant marriage urges and told her:
"OK, we're all super duper excited. But we only do this once, right? We're only going to have this one wedding, so you know what that means. We might need a little bit more. To plan that out."
90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Niles has a hard time opening up to Matilda
In 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7 episode 4, Niles face-timed Matilda to ask her if they could postpone the wedding. He began the conversation by expressing his excitement about his trip to Ghana. He said he missed her, and they wouldn't have to miss each other anymore after he went to visit her.
"It's busy, a lot is happening. I've missed you a lot, too. And soon enough, we won't have to miss each other like this," Niles said.
Matilda responded, saying that she couldn't wait to greet him at the airport and express her love for him. Matilda further told Niles that he was the "best in the world" for her. She told Niles:
"I can't wait to see you at the airport. To hug my babe. To kiss you. And I'm gonna treat you like a King, because you are my King... You are the best in the world."
The 90 Day Fiancé star proceeded and told her fiance she had a big plan for their wedding and had informed all of her friends and family members.
"I've been telling my friends about our wedding. My neighbors, my mom's friends, my church members, and everybody is happy," Matilda said.
Niles was a bit hesitant when their wedding conversation was brought up. He didn't seem quite ready to tie the knot and tried his best to convince his fiancé to postpone the wedding. Niles told her that while he was excited to get married, they needed more time to plan. He implied that marriage was a special event in their lives and should be perfect.
Matilda, however, wasn't ready to listen to any reasoning and told Niles:
"I want us to have our wedding at the end of your trip. We're gonna have our wedding, yeah? I hope you will not disappoint me."
In the end, Niles realized in his confessional that this was a conversation they needed to have in person and decided to address the matter once he met Matilda face to face.
