In January 2024, Lacey revealed that she had dropped to 406 pounds, marking a weight loss of over 100 pounds without Dr. Now’s assistance. She credited her progress to her dedication and guidance from private physicians.
Considering the physical challenges she encountered while on My 600-Lb Life, one of her Instagram videos saw her walking outside, on March 6, 2024, stating:
“Hi, so I'm Lacey Buckingham, aka Lacey Jean Buckingham on Facebook, and I started my weight loss journey, I'd say for serious, two years ago. I got up to almost 600 pounds, 580 pounds, and now I'm 396, 397.”
According to TV Shows Ace, Lacey took to TikTok to share that her weight dropped further to 360 pounds, earlier this year. She addressed additional medical issues, such as obtaining dentures, which were required because of the consequences of long-term pharmaceutical use. Lacey conveyed her appreciation for the help she has had and the opportunity to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle.
Lacey’s time on My 600-Lb Life
My 600-Lb Life season 10's Lacey episode chronicled her hardships and disappointments throughout her six-month journey under Dr. Now's care. Lacey was dealing with serious bodily issues at the time, such as persistent discomfort and trouble breathing.
Dr. Now gave her attainable monthly weight loss targets, but because of her food addiction, she found it difficult to stick to his program and skipped multiple appointments. Lacey weighed 581 pounds at the end of her episode, having only shed 10 pounds.
Lacey depended on her then-boyfriend, Ricky and his sister Sharon for assistance during her time on the TLC show. The trip was tense as the three of them traveled from Washington to Houston to see Dr. Now.
During one pivotal moment, Sharon expressed frustration with Lacey’s lack of progress, and Ricky eventually ended their relationship. Despite these challenges, Lacey remained committed to improving her health, even after the show ended.
After leaving My 600-Lb Life, Lacey sought advice from local private doctors to take charge of her health. She established attainable objectives for herself, such as losing 470 pounds by the middle of 2023, which she both met and exceeded.
