Whitney Way Thore is the star and center of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. After graduating in theater from Appalachian State University, North Carolina, she became an English teacher and moved to South Korea. She was an active slender dancer before and during her college years.

However, one college year changed her life and due to her Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, she gained 200 pounds.

Although it took some time for Whitney to get comfortable with her condition, she eventually opened herself up to the world, regained her happy lifestyle, and resumed her dancing, thanks to her active social life. She accepted her body and encouraged people to love their bodies as well.

After gaining popularity with her "fat girl" dance videos, Whitney started #NoBodyShameCampaign. The campaign encouraged people to embrace themselves and rise above the negative talks that demean their situation.

To reach more people, Whitney started her show My Big Fat Fabulous Life on TLC, where she documented her life. She has an Instagram account with over 1.3 million followers and 1,075 posts.

Glenn Thore

Throughout My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney always received support from her parents Glenn and Barbara Thore. Whitney and her 77-year-old father were heartbroken after Barbara's passing on December 7, 2022. Since the funeral, Whitney has tried her best to lighten her father's life.

Throughout his career, Glenn Thore has worked in many positions in the commercial printing industry for over 35 years. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was a general manager and vice president at PBM Graphics.

Later he joined Greensboro as a general commercial printer. He has also worked at Millennium Print Group as a Corporate Manufacturing Manager.

In season 11, fans saw Glenn struggling after her wife's passing. He tried to mend his relationship with his daughter Angie. The latest season saw him go through the healing process, and embrace his life of being a great-grandpa.

Hunter Thore

Whitney's younger brother Hunter Thore is an actor and a musician. He has a dream of becoming a well-known actor and has appeared in various short films and television series.

Hunter's acting career includes working in Skeleton Crew and Demon Doctor. Recently he acted in an Amazon Prime feature film Fattenin’ Frogs for Snakes. He is also part of a New York band called Plague of Jackals where he performs as guitarist.

Hunter has an Instagram account with over 64.4k followers. With over 921 posts he posts bts and events from his acting roles. While he was single in season 11, he revealed after the finale that he was dating Karen Schmidt.
