In 1000-lb Sisters season 5, episode 9, Bangers and Clash, Amy Slaton joins her siblings—Tammy, Amanda, Misty, Chris, and his wife Brittany—on a sightseeing tour in London. During their visit to Buckingham Palace, Amy makes a playful comment about the landmark.
"That's my future house."
Amy's light-hearted statement reveals her excitement about the palace, adding a fun tone to the family’s adventure.
In a confessional segment, Amy humorously speculates about who might live in the palace, suggesting it could be someone like Prince Charles or even "Lady Macbeth."
1000-lb Sisters' Amy and family’s London adventure
The family, enthusiastic about the sights and sounds of London, decided to explore the area surrounding Buckingham Palace. Misty observed the stunning architecture, stating,
“Here, man, the architecture is just gorgeous.”
Amy echoed this sentiment, admiring the palace's imposing presence. The family disembarked the bus to take in the iconic landmark more closely. As they stood by the gates, the group commented on various elements of the palace and the guards stationed there.
The family got a glimpse of the palace guards, who are known for their distinctive uniforms and hats. Misty curiously asked if they can go in and see the guards, but the situation remained playful as they remained behind the gates. Tammy humorously suggested,
"Hey, try to go make them laugh," further adding to the lighthearted nature of the interaction.
In a confessional, Amy explained,
“We couldn’t go past the gates to go see the dudes in the weird hats, but we did talk to some guards.”
Her playful reflection on the situation underscored the fun nature of the visit, despite not having access to the inner grounds of the palace. The group interacted with the guards in a lighthearted way, with Amanda jokingly asking if she could join them for tea.
“You get tea, yeah, we’ll join you. We’ll go have a cup of tea with you. What time is tea time?” she says.
Tammy's observations of London
As the family took in their surroundings, Tammy had a surprising moment when she spottee a pigeon. She remarked in a 1000-lb Sisters confessional,
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pigeon in Kentucky. I know they’re like dangerous and everything, and if you ingest or poop it could kill you. They’re poisonous, but they are pretty birds, and I’m not used to seeing one so close up, I guess.”
Amy humorously responded to Tammy’s fascination with the bird, saying in a 1000-lb Sisters confessional,
“Tammy trying to mate with birds over there. I don’t know what the f**k she doing.”
Interaction with the palace guards
While near Buckingham Palace, the family continued to interact with the palace guards, whose strict duty schedules include long shifts. One guard explained,
“Two hours on post, two hours on base, two hours on reserve,” underscoring the demanding nature of their work.
Another guard mentioned that their role requires being “razor sharp,” and they are “spoiled” with some rest after long hours on duty. They offered an inside look into the guards' responsibilities, providing a glimpse into the discipline involved in their roles. During this time,
Amy's admiration for the British accent of the guards is evident. She says in her 1000-lb Sisters confessional,
“I love a man with a British accent. Oh, I bet they were single and I’m ready to mingle.”
