Too Hot To Handle season 6 episode 6 featured housemate Charlie Jeer breaking up with his connection, Lucy Syed. Even though she agreed to his decision, she was not happy about it.
Later, Lucy was devastated when she discovered the reason behind the breakup. It was because Charlie wanted to explore other connections in the retreat, specifically Katherine LaPrell.

At the beginning of the sixth episode of Too Hot To Handle, Lucy and Charlie were together. However, Charlie shared in the confessional that he had felt anxious since waking up. He mentioned the reason for the same:
"Thing is, I’ve made my decision. I want Katherine over Lucy."
Meanwhile, Katherine also shared mutual feelings about Charlie in the confessional:
"This is so hard for me. Like, I could tell Charlie wants that to be me next to him. And I want him to be sitting next to me."
Later in the morning, Charlie and Katherine discussed breaking up with their respective connections. They went according to their decision, and Charlie talked with Lucy about how he had been feeling lately.
Charlie told Lucy:
"I don’t want to say, like, it’s not you, it’s me, yeah? But like, more, sort of, time goes on, the more disconnected I’m feeling. Know what I mean? After breaking up, they also hugged it out. Lucy went to Bri and Gianna and couldn’t stop crying. They tried to console her.

Soon, Lucy learned that Katherine had also broken things off with Louis in order to be with Charlie. She ran out of the bedroom and started sobbing. Joao and Gianna ran after her and comforted her.
Lucy discussed with them that there was another woman (Katherine) in the situation and she was emotionally hurt. She added in the confessional:
"I fell like someone’s just punched me. This just really hurts because I actually did let my guard down. Like, I feel stupid."
Fellow housemates, including Gianna and Bri, also expressed sadness about the whole scenario and sympathy for Lucy.
