In episode 15 of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, titled Fourth Stew's a Charm, the new stew, Carrie O'Neil, impressed Aesha with her fast and efficient work. Aesha was glad to have extra help with the deck's responsibilities. However, Ellie felt threatened by Carrie taking over some of her duties and tried to boss her around. Carrie reassured her that she was there to help, not take her job.
Ellie on the other hand, couldn't help but assert her authority. Aesha also noticed it and she asked her to stay away from Carrie's work, which she was trying to take over. Ellie didn't like that very much, so she took to a confessional and said,
"I was under the impression we just needed somebody to help with the odd jobs. But now I’m started to feel like … a weak link in the team, cause I feel like I was actually carrying the whole team this season".

Fans of Below Deck Mediterranean have taken to X to criticize Ellie for such a statement. Some are saying she is entitled to say this, while others are pointing out that Aesha was the one to carry the season.
"Oh, Ellie’s narcissism is sooooo gross, sooo off-putting. Humility goes a LONG ways with most people, one fan said.
"What’s hilarious and infuriating is that Ellie truly believes that they didn’t need another stew - but that’s only because Aesha has been picking up so much slack the entire season," said another.

What happened to Ellie in episode 15 of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9?
In episode 15, while Carrie worked in the laundry room of Below Deck Mediterranean, Aesha asked her to go upstairs and serve the guests, and she obliged. Ellie went up to her and asked her for help to clean the table.
Carrie said she would help her after serving the guests, to which Ellie asked her to switch tasks with her. She said she could do the dishes and Ellie could serve the guests. Carrie firmly refused.
Then when Aesha asked Bri and Carrie to put out plates for dinner, she asked Ellie to take her break. But Ellie didn't want a break because she didn't want Carrie to steal her "spotlight". She said in a confessional that she was hurt because she thought that they treated her insensitively.
