"Never thought I’d find a soulmate”- Love After Lockup star Sam talks about his relationship with Krystal 

Love After Lockup season 5 has introduced viewers to couples who are in a long-distance relationship due to one of their partners being in prison. One of the couples this season, Sam and Krystal's connection was shown throughout the show. They both met as penpals after Sam went through a divorce and soon, their connection blossomed into romance.

In the newly released December 13, 2024 episode, Sam opened up about his plans to marry Krystal. He also shared that he couldn't wait for the time he could see her every day. During his confessional interview, Sam said that Krystal was the love of his life, and he never thought he would find his soulmate in prison. He continued:

"I never thought I'd find my soulmate in prison. I'd never thought that I'd find even a friend in prison. But Krystal is the love of my life."

Love After Lockup season 5 episode 51, titled Sugar Mama drama, was released exclusively on We TV on December 13, 2024. The episode synopsis reads as the following:

Sam opens up about his relationship on Love After Lockup season 5 episode 51

On Love After Lockup season 5 episode 51, Sam shared that he was ready to take the next step with Krystal. He shared that they both were about to get married, and this decision was taken by him, knowing he would have to wait seven years. After seven years, Krystal will be released from prison.

Reflecting on how he met Krystal, Sam stated he was looking for a pen pal after he got divorced from his high school sweetheart. The Love After Lockup cast member shared that he and Krystal formed a deep, meaningful connection with each other. He continued:

"Shortly after I got divorced to my ex wife, I wrote Krystal off a website. And the plan behind it was simply just kind of be able to write somebody but not actually have to have any kind of obligation to it."

Sam stated the reason behind the divorce was realizing he and his high school sweetheart were unhappy in their marriage. Then, Sam started talking to Krystal after his divorce was confirmed. Once he felt it was time to take the next step, Sam flew to Texas to meet Krystal in person. He later decided to move to Texas to be closer to Krystal. During his confessional interview, Sam said:

"I could tell how unhappy I made her and it was better to get divorced. I was living in the North west and I was looking for a pen pal specifically in Texas. After about three-ish months of Krystal and I communicating, I flew down to Texas from Oregon."
