"A clear liar" — Sister Wives fans react to Robyn saying she did not influence Meri to divorce Kody legally

Season 19 of Sister Wives returned with a new episode on Sunday, December 29, 2024. In one of the episode segments of the episode, Meri reflected on her legal divorce from Kody, remembering how it impacted her emotionally. While Meri recalled the past, Christine claimed that Robyn played a role in influencing Meri to divorce Kody legally. However, Robyn denied the accusation.

Christine revealed that soon after Robyn joined the family, she started talking about other families in which the first wife would divorce the husband so he could marry again and legally adopt children. Consequently, she alleged that the repeated mention of a legal divorce seemed deliberate.

"That's a plant," Christine said.

However, Robyn dismissed the allegation and explained that Meri's decision to divorce Kody was entirely hers and was not influenced by outside factors.

"The idea that I, like, planted the idea in Meri's head is an absolute lie. I never said it," Robyn said.

She added that she did not even know families where the first wife was divorced so the other wives could legally adopt children. Sister Wives fans took to X to react to Robyn's claims. While many believed Robyn had planted the idea of a legal divorce in Meri's head, others criticized her for not taking accountability for her actions.

"Robyn planted it. She’s a clear liar. That’s why those adult kids are messed up," a fan wrote.

Many Sister Wives fans believed Christine's accusation, deeming Robyn guilty of influencing Meri's decision.

"She mentioned that several times through the years" — Sister Wives' Christine accuses Robyn of orchestrating Meri's legal divorce

While recalling everything that unfolded between Meri and Kody, Christine claimed that Robyn, Kody's only remaining wife, played a part in the couple's legal divorce. She noticed that after Robyn became a part of the Brown family, she often raised the subject of a legal divorce and how it helped the wives adopt children lawfully. The Sister Wives star believed Robyn's actions were intentional.

"She [Robyn] mentioned that several times through the years, like, she was putting that in there because she would have loved that to happen... I don't think Meri felt like it was planted. I think Meri felt like it was her own idea," she added.

Robyn had three children from her previous marriage when she started dating Kody in 2010. After Kody severed ties with Meri in 2014, he married Robyn and adopted her children.

Robyn refuted Christine's allegations and revealed that she never intended to marry Kody legally, having experienced the trauma of one failed marriage in the past. She further claimed that she was content with her spiritual marriage to Kody. Robyn confessed that it was Meri's idea to "give me the legal marriage" so Kody could adopt her children.

While recalling the emotional turmoil Meri experienced during her divorce, she expressed that she did not feel supported by the other wives or Kody. It prompted her to wonder if Kody already had the divorce in mind. Meanwhile, the Sister Wives male cast member confessed that the divorce was just "shuffling legal paperwork" to him.
