The Golden Bachelorette released a new episode on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The four remaining suitors, Guy, Chock, Pascal, and Jordan, prepared to take Joan to their hometowns to meet their family and friends. Although Joan was excited to interact with their loved ones, she admitted the last time she did that was with her deceased husband, John's family.
After meeting with the families of all four suitors, Joan was left with a difficult decision. After much deliberation, she sent Jordan home, taking Guy, Chock, and Pascal to the next rounds of the show. Despite being fond of Jordan's personality, Joan felt unsure about his commitment to their relationship.
During their hometown date, Jordan admitted he felt unprepared and would not be able to profess his feelings to Joan in just two weeks. Due to his lack of emotional validation, Joan felt uncertain about their connection, eliminating him from the show.
The Golden Bachelorette fans took to X to react to Joan's decision. While some claimed their lack of chemistry was evident, others felt Jordan was better off without her since Joan had yet to overcome her late husband's death.
"Jordan is just a friend at this point. Joan did not sit as close to him or show the affection as for the others," a fan wrote.
"Jordan no! Never say you’re not ready!" another fan commented.
"There isn’t chemistry with Jordan," a netizen tweeted.
Many of The Golden Bachelorette fans claimed Joan's decision to send Jordan home was not shocking because there was no chemistry between the two.
"Woah, Jordan’s going home after doing nothing to get to Hometowns AND said he didn’t want to share feelings…" a user reacted.
"Joan is so on the edge with Jordan. She is not picking this man," another fan wrote.
"Jordan's connection with Joan feels more friendly than romantic," a person commented.
"Jordan is a great guy who deserves love no doubt. I just think it was not going to be with Joan," a user tweeted.
Some fans of The Golden Bachelorette were surprised Jordan made it to the hometowns and was not eliminated earlier.
"I'm also shocked that Jordyn made it this far. I haven't seen anything happen between him and Joan," one person reacted.
"I’m still so confused ab how Jordan made it to Hometowns," another netizen commented.
The Golden Bachelorette star Jordan struggles to express his feelings to Joan
In the latest episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan and Jordan traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to meet with Jordan's family. Jordan's daughters Ali, with her partner Kodee, and Jamie greeted Joan, along with Jordan's brothers, Larry, Dan, and Mark, and Ali's partner, Kodee.
Despite knowing that her relationship with Jordan was not as strong as the others, she adored his personality, saying he had a "very young attitude." They went to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria for a deep-dish pizza, rainbow cake, and a shot of Jepson Malort.
Joan started narrating the story of Jordan's "epic fall" during their ice-skating date to his loved ones. He was pleased when he heard her narrate the story as he told her that his "family's pastime" was making fun of him. Meanwhile, Jordan's brother Dan believed that getting engaged after two months was not unusual, citing his own successful marriage to his wife, whom he got engaged to after a similar timeframe.
Later, during a private conversation with Jamie, The Golden Bachelorette star admitted he would not be able to say "I love you" to Joan or ask her hand in marriage in just two weeks. Meanwhile, Joan confessed to Ali and Kodee that Jordan's inexpressive nature compelled her to doubt his commitment. Ali explained that it came from a "place of fear," revealing how difficult his divorce was for him.
Despite his daughter's pleas to open up, Jordan ended his date with Joan without confessing his feelings, leaving her unimpressed. As a result, she bid farewell to him during the rose ceremony, saying, "I wish you nothing but happiness."
The Golden Bachelorette airs every Wednesday at 8 pm ET only on ABC.
