Episode 8 of The Braxtons was released on September 8. The episode, titled Cheers to the Braxtons, saw Towanda being proposed to by Sean, her boyfriend of 9 years, on the stage where she had just performed.
In the previous episodes, fans had seen Towanda opening up to Toni and Trina about her relationship with Sean. When they asked if she intended to marry him, she said yes. Sean and she also sat down to talk about her journey with alopecia, where viewers got to see their chemistry.
So when episode 8 documented Sean proposing to Towanda on the stage, fans of The Braxtons took to X to react. Some congratulated the couple on their new beginnings, while others reacted to the proposal itself. Some even said it was about time Sean proposed because they had now been together for so long.

"Ced set this up with Sean for him to propose on stage to Towanda! It was too cute annnndddd about time! And Trina was screaming louder than Towanda was! But she was happy for her sister," said one fan.
"Sean finally did it!! congratulations to them both," another said.

Some The Braxtons fans pointed out how loudly Trina screamed when Towanda got proposed. Others thought Towanda was oddly already wearing the ring when Sean proposed.

How did Towanda's proposal go down on The Braxtons episode 8?
After their performance, when Sean climbed up on the stage, Trina asked him why he was there, while the host asked Towanda if he was her "honey." Sean began by saying:
"8 years ago, the encore, we connected. The number 8 means a lot to me because number 8 stands for new beginnings and it's been a beautiful ride. I just had one question for you. Towanda C. Braxton, will you marry me?"
Towanda then said in a confessional that she never knew the Toilet Paper Song would play such a huge part in her life, but she was happy she was engaged. Toni said in a confessional that she was very happy for her sister and that she wanted to run to the stage, but the director did not allow her to do so.
She added that she was happy for Sean too, and it didn't matter he took 10 years to put a ring on it, as long as he came through. She continued to say that the night was huge for them because she started her Las Vegas residency and Towanda got proposed at the same venue.
