Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 7, titled Game a'Thrown, aired on Saturday, December 14, 2024. In one of the episode segments, Destiny witnessed Tricia sign divorce papers, officially ending her marriage with Marques. Destiny was surprised to see how lightly Tricia took the situation. However, she knew Tricia would grieve later once she realized the event's significance.
Destiny was caught off guard when a notary arrived at Tricia's house to officialize her divorce. While speaking to the cameras, she mentioned that divorce was a huge step and often triggered emotions. Consequently, she was surprised that Tricia chose to do it while a third person was present inside the house.
What bothered Destiny more was Tricia's reaction after the documents were notarized. Tricia claimed she was excited since she had waited for the day for a long time. However, Destiny, who had experienced a divorce, believed Tricia would eventually get affected.
"You will go through a grieving period now that those papers are signed. I promise you," Destiny said.
However, Tricia disagreed because it had been a while since she separated from Marques. Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans flocked to X to express a similar sentiment.
"Destiny sounds dumb af. That lady been in a relationship for 5 years already. Aint no grief coming," a fan wrote.
"Well, Destiny your divorce was more Fresh than Tricia's. This has been a Looong time coming," another fan commented.
"destiny she been trynna get divorced forever chile. relax," a netizen tweeted.
Many Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans criticized Destiny's "grieving period" remark.
"Yes! Why is Destiny acting like Trish ain’t been estranged and in another relationship for years. Signing the papers is just a formality at this point," a user reacted.
"Destiny you divorced the same year you were married. What does Trish have to grieve?!" a person commented.
"Destiny tell us about YOUR grieving period. We don’t know NOTHING about your story," another fan wrote.
Meanwhile, some Love & Marriage: Huntsville fans questioned Tricia's decision to have Destiny present during the signing.
"Tricia why you invite Destiny when you knew you invited the notary before she came?" one user posted.
"Trish is so performative, signing these papers infront of Destiny just confirms she's fake as hell," a person commented.
"Now Trish you booked that meeting with the notary at the same time with destiny on purpose…" another netizen commented.
Love & Marriage: Huntsville star Destiny says it took her months to tell her family about her divorce
In Love & Marriage: Huntsville episode 7, Tricia notarized her divorce while Destiny was still present. Destiny was shocked to see how "casually" Tricia handled the situation. She recalled her own divorce and revealed that it took her months before she could tell anyone about it. Consequently, it was "kinda crazy" for her to witness someone take the event so lightly.
"And you just gonna just do that like it's nothing and I'm sitting right here? This is a big day," Destiny said.
After the notary left, the Love & Marriage: Huntsville cast member asked Tricia how she felt. Tricia replied that she felt excited since she had eagerly awaited the day. Judging by Tricia's excitement, Destiny wondered if she had already planned her wedding to Ken. However, Tricia disagreed, saying she did not want to rush into major decisions, worried she might repeat the same mistakes.
Tricia mentioned that although Ken seemed ideal for her, she wanted to take her time and focus on reworking herself first. She wished to improve her communication and get control of her temper.
Destiny then mentioned that Tricia would experience a "grieving period," however, Tricia disagreed since they had separated years ago.
"Listen to me. You will go through a grieving period. Number one, you just lost somebody that you known," Destiny said.
In a confessional, Tricia revealed that she was ready to move on because she knew someone better was waiting for her.
