Love is Blind season 7 couple Marissa and Ramses share their beliefs on military
Marissa and Ramses shared a dinner date at the end of Love is Blind season 7 episode 7. Before talking about the military, the couple exchanged their opinions on religion. After talking about patriarchy, Marissa dived into her opinions about the military and how it changed her. She shared:
I had to leave the military behind. Nobody -- People do not realize the, like, brainwashing that military does. And, like, I've been in it my whole life. I truly believed in the military, and I was very patriotic".
Marissa admitted that she wouldn't turn her back on the military because it changed her life and provided her with opportunities. However, she said that doesn't support half the things that the military does in other countries.
Ramses then shared his opinions on the US military. He said that while he understands the privilege of living in the country, he would always critique how the US has "destabilized entire countries".
Marissa, on the other, said that she supports the military and that their country would be in a very hurt position without it. When Ramses asked her why their country needed a military, she said:
"Because we put ourselves in this position where we bullied other countries. We've gone to other countries. We've destroyed countries, societies, communities. I do not ignore that. I am very critical of it."
The Love is Blind contestant further added that she supports the troops in the military. She further said that the "things they signed up to do are not easy".
Ramses presented the point that the troops are not forced to do anything and they sign up for the things they do. Marissa, however, did not have the same opinion and implied that things weren't that simple. She further tried to explain the gravity of the situation and shared the conflict she had to deal with in her military position.
"When I was finally put in a position where I was like I push the button and a missile gets launched off the ship, 'cause that was one of my positions, I struggled with that. And said, 'If y'all tell me to push the button, I don't think I can push the button to shoot an airplane down'."
By the end of their conversation, the Love is Blind season 7 couple stated that they might have got engaged if they had met each other in the past. Further, they reflected that they had a lot of things to figure out before tying the knot.
