Season 47 of Survivor released its latest episode on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. In the segment, the castaways participated in the Survivor Auction, purchasing different food items with the tubes of money they found scattered around the island. While each player secured at least one tube, Andy was the sole contestant to have found none. Consequently, he could not place a bid or eat any food.
However, the person with the most money left by the end of the auction would be stripped of his right to vote at the coming Tribal Council. Since Sam failed to exhaust his budget, he lost his vote. In the meantime, Kyle and Sue won their individual immunity challenges and saved themselves from being ousted from the competition show.
After the castaways returned to their camps, discussions ensued and Andy decided to turn against his former Gata tribemates Sam and Sierra. He wanted to wedge a gap between them and take control of the game. Consequently, he pitched the idea to Gabe and floated it to the other Lavo and Tuku members. The contestants struggled to finalize a target since each wanted to keep the player who would benefit their game.
Consequently, Sam and Sierra ended up tied for votes. However, after the castaways voted again, Sierra received the majority and was eventually eliminated. Survivor fans were surprised to see Sierra leave instead of Sam. While some fans were disappointed by the outcome, others claimed Sierra deserved the eviction.
"I feel like taking out Sierra there was pretty dumb…when Sam is RIGHT THERE?!!!! Annoying actually," a fan wrote.
"I'm gonna miss Sierra! Her edit was pretty first-juror coded but I'm still going to miss the colorful cardigan," another fan commented.
"Sierra wasn’t giving us anything so I’m glad she left tbh," a netizen tweeted.
Many Survivor fans were unhappy to see Sierra leave before Sam.
"They kept Sierra over Sam? A lot of questionable votes made this week I must say," a user reacted.
"Also like wtf. I really like sierra and she was no threat to anyone, Sam is a much bigger target and although I like him just as much, why would they keep him over her?" a person commented.
"i'm shocked that sierra went home over sam. i know the edited show's propping him up as the more active player (probably bc he outlasts her in retrospect) but clearly everyone thought it was sierra," another fan wrote.
"Letting sierra vote just to get sent home was crazy work …" one user posted.
Some Survivor fans were pleased with the outcome, claiming Sierra deserved to go.
"Nah Sierra deserved that idc idc idc idc. The beauty of Survivor is watching someone make a poor choice and then face the consequences. She kept Andy over Anika. She didn’t read the game well, and got a deserving placement," a person reacted.
"Sierra had to go. Had to be done," another netizen commented.
Survivor season 47: Sierra becomes the first jury member
After the immunity challenge, the contestants gathered to discuss the coming Tribal Council. The non-Tuku players decided to focus their target on Caroline and Gabe while Sam suggested they "keep it clean" and vote to evict Gabe. However, Andy had other plans. He wanted to turn against Sam and Sierra, unwilling to let them use him as their pawn.
"Sam and Sierra still feel like they own me. They have me in their pockets. They look at me as an expendable piece and sort of a weak player," he said.
Consequently, the Survivor star wanted to become a "new Andy" and take charge of his fate in the game. Hence, he allied with the Lavo and Tuku members, hoping to evict Sierra or Sam.
Meanwhile, Genevieve, Sol, and Teeny clashed in their choices. Genevieve rooted for Rachel's eviction, whereas Sol wanted Sierra to leave. On the contrary, Teeny wanted to save Sierra since she had strong bonds with the star.
At the Council, Rachel played her Shot in the Dark advantage but failed to earn immunity as it said, "Not Safe." After the votes were cast, Jeff announced that Sam and Sierra were tied with four votes each. As a result, the cast members had to vote again to break the tie.
Sam was banned from casting his vote since he lost the right at the auction. Meanwhile, Sierra was permitted to vote, which put her at an advantage.
Despite the upper hand, Sierra earned the majority votes against her and was ultimately eliminated from Survivor season 47. While casting his vote for Sierra, Andy said:
"I acknowledge I'm doing you dirty but I'm a dirty player."
Sierra became the first contestant to become a jury member. Before leaving, she stated she felt "honored" to be considered "the biggest threat sitting" there. The female cast member thanked her tribemates and hugged Jeff on her way out.
