Sister Wives released its latest episode on Sunday, November 10, 2024. In it, Janelle sat down with Meri and discussed the situation regarding the property on Coyote Pass. She informed her they would lose the plot if they did not clear the payment due on it within the next 75 days.
Janelle suggested Meri protect her share of the property before things went south and she was denied her part. However, Meri seemed unphased by the warning. She believed there was no need to take any precautions because Kody and Robyn would not deceive her. Janelle disagreed with her and urged her to reconsider her options.
Despite Janelle's warnings, Meri firmly believed Kody would be a "gentleman" and give her what she was owed. Meanwhile, Janelle feared Meri would be deprived of her share because of her blind faith in Kody's actions.
Sister Wives took to X to criticize Meri for dismissing Janelle's forewarnings and having faith in her relationship with Kody. They were disappointed to see her fall back on him after being rejected by him on numerous occasions.
"Meri, are you crazy girl? OF COURSE they wouldn’t be fair. You are still on the wrong side of this. Team up with Janelle and get your cut," a fan wrote.
"Meri is just a lost cause at this point," another fan commented.
"Meri is so naive thinking Kody and Robyn will not scr*w her and Christine over," a netizen tweeted.
Many Sister Wives fans disapproved of Meri's faith in Kody.
"Meri:”I dont think Kody would scr*w us outta our money” what!!" a user reacted.
"Meri, you’re blind girl!!! Why would he look out for you? It took 40 days and 40 nights for him to finally tell you he don’t like you. Janelle, she’s def going back to Kody… get ready," a person commented.
"Meri we want to root for you but girl wake up and smell the coffee. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kody stuffed money in a mattress at Robyn’s house to hide from you, Christine and Janelle," another fan wrote.
"That's right, Janelle, tell Meri what's goin on with the finances. But this conversation is leavin me flabbergasted. Meri can't b this naive! Meri, Janelle is tryin 2 tell u Kody & Robyn r goin 2 scr*w u over with d land. Kody has never had ur back y would he now?" one user posted.
Some Sister Wives fans praised Janelle for warning Meri, whereas others hoped Meri would take Janelle's advice.
"Meri please, listen to Janelle! Kody and Robyn only care about Kody and Robyn!!!!!" a person reacted.
"Janelle is kind and looking out for Meri.. She knew nothing. Ignorance isn't always bliss. Yeah, Meri, Kody has been financially "creative." Riiight.. You need to pick a side.. You are technically in the ex wives club," another netizen commented.
Sister Wives: Meri thought Janelle managed the family finances
In the latest episode of Sister Wives, Janelle had a one-on-one conversation with Meri, alerting her about the financial situation surrounding the Coyote Pass property. She revealed that they had to pay off the money due within the next 75 days or the authorities could repossess the plot.
The Sister Wives star worried that Meri would be denied her share if the plot were to be sold. Hence, she wanted Meri to take precautionary steps to ensure she was not refused her part. To Janelle's surprise, Meri said:
"Well, I'm not worried about that."
Janelle revealed that Kody knew about the situation but avoided settling the payment for years. Therefore, she urged Meri to be prepared to fight for what was hers. However, the Sister Wives star remained unphased. She confessed she was under the impression that Janelle managed the finances, not Kody.
Janelle revealed she was only the bookkeeper and had nothing to do with the family money. Nonetheless, she suggested that Meri protected the quarter of the land she was entitled to, to which Meri responded:
"I don't really think there's any need for protection. Don't you think that we have each other's backs as far as that goes?"
The Sister Wives star believed Kody and Robyn would never go as far as to claim the entire property for themselves, but Janelle disagreed with her stance.
While speaking to the cameras, Janelle stated that Meri was entitled to only one piece of the land in conjunction with Kody and her, which reduced her chances of getting the plot if the property were to be sold.
Although Meri refused to be in the "ex-wives club" or the "Kody and Robyn club," she was certain they could resolve the situation if they all chipped in. However, Janelle warned her it would not be the wisest decision.
"I don't Kody to take care of me but what I do expect is for him to be a gentleman," Meri said.
