In The Masked Singer season 12, episode 6, themed "60s Night," Group B finalists Goo, Wasp, and Bluebell competed for a quarterfinal spot. Bluebell was unmasked first, revealing Grammy-nominated singer Natalie Imbruglia. Wasp won the duet battle against Goo, leaving him up for elimination, but Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg used the "Ding Dong Keep It On" button, advancing both Goo and Wasp to the quarterfinals.

The Wasp sang Ain't No Way by Aretha Franklin for his solo performance. For his duet performance with Goo, he sang I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye. He moved smoothly to the quarter-finals, which made fans of The Masked Singer come to X to praise his win. Many fans also guessed him to be the singer Mario Barrett.

"AYEEEEEEEE congratulations Wasp!!" said an X user.
"The Wasp did it for me!" said another user.
"Yayyyyyy Mario (Wasp) is safe. I was scared they was going to send him home," a third one added.
"Yeah wasp!!!!" another one wrote.

Some fans of The Masked Singer called The Wasps win even before he won, while others congratulated him on it.

"I knew the Wasp would win, sorry Goo," an X user wrote.
"The wasp is the group B champion, And he is moving on to the quarterfinals," another X user said.

Wasp's performances, voiceover, and panelists' guesses in episode 6 of The Masked Singer season 12

Goo kicked off the Group B finals in episode 6, with his solo on The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals. Then came Bluebell, now known to be Natalie Imbruglia, who sang Do You Love Me by Contours, her performance was followed by that of the Wasp, who sang to Aretha Franklin's Ain't No Way.

In his clue package, Wasp revealed that his mom liked costumes avidly costumes. She used to protect him from invisible monsters as a child. But when he grew up, she was struck with a battle she had to fight on her own. Wasp elaborated:

"As I got older....she faced her darkest battle yet. I tried everything I could to save her, but no amount of money, no amount of love could mend her broken wings. When she passed, I thought I’d never recover from the sting".

He said he still thought about her all the time and that she would've been really happy to see him on The Masked Singer if she were here. He also said that she would've probably tried his costume on too. And for her, he didn't want his journey to end there.

After the studio audience voted to get Bluebell out, the Wasp and Goo battled against each other for the quarter-final spot, singing I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye. He won the battle, putting Goo up for elimination, but he too was saved by the Ding Dong Keep It On button.
