The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 aired episode 8 this week on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The segment started with a flashback of Shannon Beador purchasing a new car and getting a breathalyzer installed in it.

In a confessional, she explained that she had limited options that allowed her to be on the road since her DUI. As her lawyer previously explained, if she installed the breathalyzer, she could drive her car anywhere she wanted.

Fans of the show took to social media to react to the segment and praised Shannon's decision about the breathalyzer. They felt it showed that she was being honest and was being accountable for her actions. One person wrote on X:

"I respect Shannon a lot for filming scenes with her breathalyzer getting installed & learning how to do it. She’s really being honest with the cameras on about the consequences of her actions"
"Shannon taking accountability and installing the breathalyzer shows she is taking responsibility. You can have a DUI and not be an alcoholic so Tamra needs to stop saying she is!" a fan commented.
"I mean, Shannon showing the breathalyzer being installed in her car and talking about fears around driving is being pretty vulnerable and I’ll tip my hat to her," a tweet read.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 fans commented on Shannon not knowing how to use a breathalyzer:

"Watching #Shannon learn how to use a car breathalyzer scared the crap out of me," a person wrote.
"Only Shannon would film a scene of her learning how to use a breathalyzer, and somehow make this serious issue comical!" a fan commented.
"Shannon may regret installing a breathalyzer in her car, but at least she's honest in filming the process!" a tweet read.

The Real Housewives of Orange County fans further said:

"Shannon is so real for filming how to use a breathalyzer. Mother is always giving such good solo scenes," a person wrote.
"Shannon choosing to have a breathalyzer installed in her car was a very mature and smart thing to do. I respect that decision so much. It shows she is taking accountability and being more responsible," a fan commented.

"The DUI has affected every aspect of my life": The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador opens up about getting a breathalyzer installed

In The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) season 18, Shannon Beador went to get a breathalyzer installed in her car. In a confessional, she explained that with the device, she would be able to drive and wouldn't have to depend on other people.

At the shop, she learned how to use the breathalyzer and was informed that the device would randomly require the reality star to test her breath while driving. She was told that she would have to use it before turning on her vehicle or else it would be counted as a violation. After three violations, Shannon would have to return to the dealership to pay a fee to reset the breathalyzer.

"The DUI has affected every aspect of my life, including my Real for Real business," Shannon said.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 cast member explained that her sales had started to drop before the DUI and had been at the same level since. The reality star wanted to take her name off of the brand because she felt it was "hypocritical" of her to ask people to buy her "healthy" products while she had a DUI.

Fans of the Bravo show took to social media to react to the segment and praised Shannon for deciding to install a breathalyzer. They felt it showed responsibility and accountability on her part.

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 will return to screens next Thursday, September 5, 2024, with a brand new episode on Bravo.
