Love & Marriage: Huntsville season 9 episode 9, titled Open House, Closed Mouths, was released on Saturday, December 28, 2024. It showcased Martell having a session with his therapist, Dominique, during which he stated that he did not have much to work on besides learning to cut ties with incompatible people. However, Martell feared that his children would miss out if he prioritized his redevelopment.
Dominique asserted that personal growth and family could coexist since they mutually enhanced one another. The Love & Marriage: Huntsville star acknowledged his shortcomings and admitted he could do better.
Martell then opened up about experiencing difficulty in detaching himself from incompatible people. He added that he often ignored the indications and let the tension build. Upon hearing that, Dominique mentioned that Martell tended to use his children and relationships as an excuse not to focus on his development.

Dominique suggested Martell practice "mindfulness" and pray to connect with his inner vision. She stated that without a vision, he would "perish."
