"Between Sydney and Sofronio"— The Voice fans react to the finale performances

The Voice season 26 aired part one of its season finale this week on Monday, December 9, 2024. The live segment featured several performances, by the final five contestants, mentors, and more. It also featured special guests such as Martha Stewart and saw Carly Pearce return to the show as she and Micheal Bublé performed a duet together.

As for the contestants, they took to the stage twice in hopes of earning votes to help secure their win. However, only one can take home the prize, which will be announced on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

As the performances ensued, fans online chimed in on the singers and expressed who they saw as the winner of the show. Fans had conflicting views but felt Sydney or Sofronio could win The Voice season 26. One person wrote on X:

"After Shye's performance (she's usually great but that was pretty so-so) imo the finals is and should be between Sydney and Sofronio"
"Sydney Sterlace sang & performed that one better than Billie Eilish ever did. Stellar performance!" a tweet read.
"Sydney got the younger girlies on lock with these song choices. She could place in the top two. Nice voice, but her stage presence…" a fan commented.

Fans of The Voice season 26 also felt Sofronio could emerge as the champion:

"I came into the finale a Jeremy fan (can’t help it; musical theater background) but Sofronio has won my vote," a person wrote.
"Pause why did Sofronio performance made me shed tears. You can see how clearly he wants this win. And he gave it his all. From interacting to the audience and the camera. Including some of the dance routine. This right there is an artist this show was meant for him," a fan commented.
"Sofronio might have sealed the deal right there. It is all up to America for him to win it all tomorrow," a tweet read.

Fans of The Voice season 26 further said:

"Sofronio Vasquez bringin the big vocal, great message, song choice, a lil rushed in the verses, losing words, but he sells it so well. This was technical, exciting, fun, and so satisfying. Proud of him!" a person wrote.
"Sydney Sterlace so easy-breezy natural, flowing through the verse, communing with the audience. Such a sweet vocal. Yes, youthful but also grounded and solid throughout her range," a fan commented.

Sydney Sterlace and Sofronio Vasquez's The Voice season 26 finale performances explored

The Voice season 26 aired part one of its finale this week on December 9, 2024. The segment saw each finalist take to the stage twice.

Sydney Sterlace, from Gwen Stefani's team, sang Gracie Abrams' I Miss You, I'm Sorry for her first performance of the night. Snoop Dogg told the singer that she "grew up" during the segment.

"You played the part, you looked the part, he added.

Sydney's mentor told the contestant that she was fulfilling her dream and loved seeing The Voice season 26 contestant grow up before her eyes. During her second performance, the singer sang Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

Reba McEntire told her that a lot of people would be looking up to her and hoped that she would use her voice to set an example. Stefani also praised her act and called her "angelic."

Sofronio Vasquez from Team Bublé performed Unstoppable by Sia as his first song of the night. Reba McEntire praised the contestant and said he was "so good," and assured him that the "sky" was the "limit."

For his second performance, The Voice season 26 finalist chose A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman. The performance made Snoop Dogg cry, and the mentor told the singer he loved him and was proud of him.

Fans commented on all the performances on social media. While they commented on every contestant's performance, they felt Sydney or Sofronio could win the NBC show.


The Voice season 26 will announce its winner on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Voting lines will remain open till 7 am ET followed by finale part 2 which will air at 9 pm ET.
