Love After Lockup season 5 reached episode 44 on October 25, titled Red Flags & White Dresses. In the Life After Lockup segment, the episode follows Kerok and Brittany discussing marriage to help Brittany move to Texas. Earlier episodes showed the couple’s attempts to relocate from Virginia to Texas for a fresh start after prison, but Brittany's entry was denied, and Kerok's permit status remains pending.
In the latest episode, Kerok and Brittany sat down to talk about the odds. He asked her if they were to get married sooner or later why not now? He said doing so would help them bypass the government's denial of Brittany's permit as she will be able to go to Texas as Kerok's wife. Fans of Love After Lockup took to X to react to this conversation. Some thought it was wise, while other's criticized it.

Some fans of Love After Lockup pointed out that the government keeps a close watch on such activities and the step would get the duo in trouble.

Before pitching his idea of marriage to Brittany, Kerok took to a confessional on Love After Lockup to say that he kept pulling out of their savings because he didn't want to start a job in Virginia, knowing he could be getting the approval to move to Texas anytime.
The duo then sat down at a cafe to write down their expenses and Brittany posed the question, what if Kerok was to go to Texas without her, and started earning from there? Kerok said even if he got the clearing to move, he wasn't going anywhere without her.
He also said if Brittany didn't get a permit to move within 45 days, he would marry her. Brittany said she wanted a big wedding, while Kerok insisted that they should get legally married first to get the legal wheels turning then move to their big wedding.
