Season 5 of Love After Lockup made it to episode 51 on December 13. Titled Sugar Mama Drama, the episode introduced new pairs of couples to the mix under the Love During Lockup segment. Under this segment, the cast members will be documented going through relationship struggles with their partners who are still in prison.

Savannah and Bradley were one such couple that debuted on episode 51 of the coveted dating show. Savannah and her mom, Chenoa, were seen discussing Savannah and Bradley's relationship. They spoke to Bradley on the speakerphone while Chenoa worried about her daughter's future with him. Explaining why her mom was worried about them, Savannah said in a confessional:

"My mom has some concerns about me using drugs and I think that those concerns are fair...and valid because Bradley was my weed dealer, and then we became best friends."

Further in the episode, Chenoa expressed concerns with Bradley's sobriety inside the prison. She even got emotional talking about her fears of Savannah having a relapse.

The conversation between the three started when Chenoa was cooking. She asked Bradley, who was on the speakerphone, about his thoughts on how he was going to lead his life. Bradley quipped, rhetorically asking if it was the 50s, and criticized Chenoa for asking such a question. She said that she needed to know the kind of life he was planning for himself and her daughter. She further asked if they were going to take any counseling.

Then on Love After Lockup she also mentioned that the two of them were toxic and they weren't nice to each other. When Savannah said they didn't argue anymore, Chenoa quipped and asked if last week was the past. She added:

"He says f*ck you and hangs up and then he calls right back. That's not normal."

In a Love After Lockup confessional, Chenoa said that from her experience at the Virginia prison system, she knew the items that could be smuggled in there. She then said she had never asked if Bradley was sober in prison, but she knew that if he wanted to do drugs, he could.

Then when she sat down with Savannah, she stated that she was open when it came to accepting that people could change for the better, but she worried that he would come out and still be the same. Here was when Savannah took over and called her out for asking Bradley to take counseling. She said that they had been dating for 2 years, so for Chenoa to say such a thing now didn't make sense.

Chenoa accepted the fact that her approach was wrong. She then got emotional on Love After Lockup, talking about how she had "gone down that road before" and how she was scared it would happen again. She openly shared her fears of Savannah relapsing after coming in contact with Bradley again.

Chenoa recalled an incident where she received a phone call that put her in a place where she didn't know if her child was going to live or die the next day. To this, Savannah reassuringly told her mom that she wasn't scared and asked her to trust her even if she didn't trust him.
