"Brutal"— Beast Games fans react to the Trolley problem elimination task

Beast Games season 1 episode 7, The Elimination Train, featured a challenge inspired by Philippa Foot's Trolley Dilemma, which was first discussed in 1967 to test moral intuition.

In the January 23 episode, the contestants had to pick a leader, and that leader was given a choice to either let the train eliminate the people who stood on the yellow track or change its course and eliminate someone else. In different rounds of the task, different rewards and people stood on the train tracks, while one person made the decision.

Fans of the Mr. Beast reality show commented on episode 7 online and praised the latest elimination task.

"Well damn Jimmy ....brutal game ..... trolley train is nutz," one person wrote on X.

Some fans of Beast Games season 1 called it "predictable":

"Twists another level? Pick a leader for the 10th time. Predictable eliminate your friend or some random player..Yeah look forward to it but it’s running it’s course 10 episodes may be too many for this show. How they gonna fill 3 hours left of episode to eliminate 10 players?" a person wrote.

"It’s an interesting quandary but it is not even close to what the trolley problem actually is. I’ve enjoyed the show so far but saying this is “The Trolley Problem” is stupid, since that’s an actual historical experiment and not at all like what’s shown here on Beast Games," a fan commented.

Who was eliminated from Beast Games episode 7's elimination train task?

Prime Video's Beast Games, hosted by Mr. Beast, featured an elimination task, loosely inspired by the Trolley Dilemma, in episode 7. The host asked the players to pick a captain but didn't inform them of what would happen next.

The captain of the first round was Akira, aka Player 539, and he chose Players 952, 182, and 626. The three were asked to stand on the Red Track while Mr. Beast revealed that he would have to choose between the three contestants or a Lamborghini. He chose the latter and eliminated Mia, Monece, and Rikeyah.

In the next round, the cast once again chose Akira as the captain, and he picked players 990, 907, and 351. The host of the show added a reward on the track that was occupied by the three Beast Games contestants, which was a brand new Tesla.

The other track, the red track was occupied by the captain's best friend, Player 359, Colton. Akira saved his best friend, eliminated three contestants, and destroyed the car.

Round 3 saw Bethany, aka Player 865 get chosen as the captain and she picked players 359 and 539 to stand on the yellow track. The show's host, Mr. Beast revealed that the person standing on the red track was her best friend, Courtney aka, Player 424.

However, there was another twist. The Yellow Track also had a mystery mannequin representing one of the other cast members, but the identity of the same was not revealed. Bethany saved her best friend— however, the mannequin revealed her own jersey number and she was eliminated along with Akira and Colton.

In the final round of the task, the Beast Games host said that whoever was picked as the captain would earn immunity and secure a spot in the Top 10. While Players 830, 817, and 380 nominated themselves as captains, the other contestants unanimously voted for Player 830 aka, Twana.

Twana chose players 817 and 380 as her elimination picks, who then had to choose one person each to join them on the tracks. The episode ended on a cliffhanger after the host revealed that whoever was not on the tracks, was amongst the Top 10 contestants of Beast Games season 1.

Fans of the reality show commented on the latest elimination task and termed it "brutal."
