Big Brother season 26 premiered on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with the second premiere set to be aired on Thursday, July 18, 2024. In the first premiere, the host, Julie Chen Moonves, welcomed the brand new contestants as they entered the Big Brother house.

The first eight houseguests included Angela, Cam, Chelsie, Joseph, Kimo, Makensy, Rubina, and Tucker. Julie informed them that they could bring in a 17th houseguest to join the group.

Since the votes were tied at 4-4, the 17th houseguest, Ainsley, did not enter the house, and it was later revealed that she was an Artificial Intelligence bot. When fans saw the same, they took to X to state that it was quite obvious, with one person writing that her name "literally starts with AI."

"Ainsley's name literally starts with "AI" like c'mon now LOL #bb26," the fan said.
"What in the zeetus lupeetuz...Ainsley definitely gonna be controlled by AI. VOTE NO! #BB26," a fan commented.
"This girl is not playing for the money she’s clearly the AI twist no? I don’t get it Julie make it make sense #bb26," a viewer mentioned.

Big Brother fans noted that Ainsley's AI robot looked like a bitmoji, as others claimed that she scared them.

"this f*cking ai... #bb26 yall couldnt just make it a screen like the hacker instead of a f*cking bitmoji looking v tuber model," a person wrote.
"EW THAT AI ROBOT SCARES ME #BB26," a fan commented.
"That AI baby blue robot thing is what nightmares are made of #BB26," a tweet read.
"This robot has me GAGGED ngl. I assumed the extra houseguest would be a robot but then they showed Ainsley. Then I thought she was just acting and was a production pet or something but I was nawt expecting her to be a literal AI. oh they got me good #bb26," a fan commented.
"You don’t understand how bad this pissed me off like… I already hate AI and it’s ruining my favorite reality competition show since childhood #BB26," a person wrote.

Big Brother season 26: Ainsley upgrade task explained

During Big Brother 26 episode 1, Julie told the contestants that, for the first time in the show's history, they were allowed to bring in another contestant to join them.

"For the first time in Big Brother history, you eight hold the power to bring an additional houseguest into the game. You will vote to either bring this houseguest into the game or deny them this opportunity," the host of the CBS show said.

After Ainsley's video pitch about why she wanted to compete in Big Brother season 26, the participants cast their votes in private. Those who chose to vote in favor of Aisley joining the show participated in an upgrade task, while those who didn't, participated in a downgrade task.

In the upgrade task, the person who finished the fastest would win an upgrade, while the slowest contestant in the downgrade task would receive a downgrade.

Angela, Joseph, Makensy, and Rubina voted to bring Ainsley into Big Brother season 26. They competed in a task that required them to memorize a color sequence while sitting in a spinning chair, and Makensy won the upgrade.

Tucker, Cam, Chelsie, and Kimo had to match the words of phobias in the time-based challenge. Tucker took more than a minute, while Kimo finished in 52 seconds. Chelsie had the slowest time, while Cam won by finishing the task in only 45 seconds.

Fans were introduced to the first eight cast members during the first episode. The second premiere, set to be released on Thursday, July 18, 2024, will introduce the rest of the cast members. The new set of contestants include:

  • Brooklyn Rivera
  • Cedric Hodges
  • Kenney Kelley
  • Leah Peters
  • Lisa Weintraub
  • Matt Hardeman
  • Quinn Martin
  • TKor Clottey

Fans can tune in on Thursday, July 18, 2024, to watch Big Brother season 26 episode 2 at 9 pm ET on CBS.
