"Cancel the show"— The Great British Bake Off fans react to Nelly's elimination

The Great British Bake Off 2024 aired a brand new episode this week on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The segment saw the remaining bakers compete in Autumn Week as they set out to create dishes inspired by the fall season.

The seven bakers competed in three challenges - the signature bake, the technical challenge, and the showstopper, in which they had to feature an Autumn Festival Cake. While Sumayah earned the Star Baker position, Nelly was eliminated.

Fans of the baking competition reacted to the baker's elimination and were upset to see her go home. One person wrote on X:

"That's it, cancel the show, we will see you next year"

"Nelly is a legend, been a fab contestant and entertaining watch each week, the show won’t be the same without her, give her a baking show of her own," a tweet read.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off called Nelly one of the "best" contestants on the series:

"Absolutely one of the best contestants on any competition series... ever. Ready to watch Nelly in The Traitors and every other format known to British TV," a person wrote.

"Aww I’m sad to see Nelly go. I looked forward to her good vibes and banter with Noel every week. She’s an excellent baker, very talented," a fan commented.

"Nelly’s brilliant reaction to leaving sums up her awesome personality. What a fabulous contestant and a wonderfully positive person. Miss you already Nelly!" a tweet read.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off 2024 further said:

"This is not the end"— The Great British Bake Off 2024 contestant Nelly bids farewell to the show

In The Great British Bake Off season 15, the 44-year-old Palliative care assistant Nelly Ghaffar was eliminated from the show in episode 6. As part of the show's format, the eliminated baker penned down her thoughts upon her eviction from the tents and called her experience a "rollercoaster" and thanked fans for the love and support.

"P.S. This is not the end, only the beginning. I will be back," she wrote.

Nelly was eliminated from The Great British Bake Off 2024 during Autumn Week, during which the bakers had to make autumn-inspired baked goods and had to transform "veg into showstopping celebration cakes."

As part of the Signature Bake, they had to prepare a sweet autumnal pie. Nelly made an Out of Nature Pie, which featured apples and poppy seeds. Gill made a blackberry and apple Windy Day Pie while Dylan presented the judges with an Autumnal apple pie.

Illiyin made an Autumnal fruit pie while Christiaan baked a Forest Cano-pie. The Great British Bake Off contestant Georgie made a pumpkin and pecan pie while Sumayah presented the judges with a butternut and pecan pie.

During the technical challenge, the season 15 contestants had to make a Parkin, a spicy, dense ginger cake with a vegan twist. Nelly placed 5th while Illiyin finished 1st. Gill placed last ahead of the Showstopper challenge.

For their Autumn Festival Cake, the contestants were encouraged to include vegetables in the cakes. Nelly's Woman in Autumn Cake was a chocolate and avocado cake. However, it was a little too dense and ended up contributing to her elimination from the show.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off 2024 were upset to see the contestant go home and shared their opinion online.
