Big Brother season 26 featured the eviction of Joseph Rodriguez in episode 24, released on CBS on September 5, 2024. His elimination was deemed one of the biggest blindsides of the season, not only by fans but also by the cast members. Joseph believed he had strong connections with the Head of Household (HoH) Quinn and his allies.
His opponent Kimo had only T'Kor and Rubina to depend on. After considering the numbers, Joseph felt confident about his position in the house. However, T'Kor overturned the game by convincing Chelsie to be on Kimo's side. Makensy followed suit, resulting in Joseph's unexpected elimination.
Quinn was shocked by the outcome. Unable to withhold his emotions, Quinn broke into tears after the cast member exited the house. Big Brother season 26 fans took to X to react to his emotional outburst. While some commented on the hilarity of the situation, others called out Quinn for nominating an ally.
"Quinn crying his eyes out because both of his hoh’s ended with one of his close allies going home at his own doing is just chefs kiss," a fan wrote.
"quinn doing all the theatrics as if he didn’t put joseph on the block??? girl it’s on YOUR hoh," another fan commented.
"The photo of the night. Quinn has no power as HOH. Doesn’t matter how much you yell in the diary room. Another failure," a netizen tweeted.
Many Big Brother fans commented on Quinn's emotional moment, stating he finally realized the mistake of putting an ally in danger.
The show ends with a shot of QUINN bawling his eyes out, as he realizes that he sent out his own friend AND ally while he was HOH," a user reacted.
"Omg Quinn BAWLINGGG as the episode ended he truly did not expect Joseph to be evicted but he didn’t have to put him OTB UGHHHH," a person wrote.
"I hate seeing Joseph go (he was my Tucker) but seeing Quinn’s facecrack for the second time this season because of how bad his gameplay is kinda softened the blow," a netizen wrote.
Netizens also reacted to the cast member crying to Rubina, one of the other nominees.
"I feel so bad for Quinn and simultaneously can’t stop laughing at him basically crying to her that he wish she were gone," a fan commented.
"Rubin’s comforting Quinn who is sobbing over Joseph leaving when he laughed behind her back when she cried about Tucker," another user tweeted.
"Is Quinn crying because he feels bad for Joseph or because he just realized his game is in the crapper," a person wrote.
Big Brother star Quinn says Joseph must be "mad" at him
After Joseph exited the Big Brother house, the Live Feeds came on where Quinn confided in Leah about the eviction. He was convinced Joseph would be angry with them since they jeopardized his game. While Leah saved Angela with her Power of Veto (PoV), Quinn nominated Joseph as Angela's replacement.
"He [Joseph] is so pissed at us. He is so mad," Quinn said.
He believed Joseph would think he aligned himself with "two bad players." However, Leah wondered why Joseph would hold them accountable for losing the AI Arena challenge. She added it was his responsibility to be unable to win the competition despite telling everyone he would.
Quinn was upset, Cedric and Joseph, his final two, were eliminated from Big Brother. While Quinn underestimated the other houseguests' gameplay and strategies, T'Kor showed how one could manipulate the votes by influencing others. She assured Chelsie she had her support besides Rubina, urging her to protect Kimo. In one conversation, Chelsie said:
"I personally don't want to see you [Kimo] and Rubina sitting next to each other. If it's you and Joseph on the block, I feel you have votes to stay...or at least mine."
The eviction showcased how quickly the sides changed inside the house. Viewers were enraged with Quinn since he failed to utilize his HoH reign to his advantage by removing his competitors from the race.
Big Brother season 26 airs every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday, only on CBS.
