"Coming for that top spot" — The Challenge fans react to Tori Deal winning the mini-final

The Challenge Season 40 aired a new episode on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Halfway into the competition, the latest segment saw the players compete individually in a mini-final challenge after the eras were disbanded in the previous episode.

They had to race across dunes while completing tasks at several checkpoints. In addition to the mini-final, the show brought back the purge which put each contestant at risk of going home. The man and woman coming in last would immediately be 'purged' or evicted from the competitive reality show. The challenge, Duned, tested the durability and agility of the players, forcing them to put their best foot forward to try and evade finishing at the bottom of the pile.

While Laurel and Nehemiah lost the race, Tori and Kyland emerged victorious, nabbing first place. The Challenge 40 fans were especially impressed by Tori's win since she faced tough competition from the other female contenders. They took to X to react to her victory.

"Tori beating the girls on the Mount Rushmore she’s coming for that top spot," a fan wrote.

"Tori really has grown on me this season. She seems way more authentic," another fan commented.

"I’m not a Tori fan but this is her season. She’s killing it," a netizen tweeted.

Some fans of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras claimed Tori outperformed the other female players in the competition.

"Tori is really eating these challenges wtf she’s THE threat," a user reacted.

"Like her or hate her Tori has proven to be a strong competitor," a person commented.

"I wish these women would stop calling Laurel the best female competitor of all time. SHE’S NOT. And at this point, if you haven’t realized TORI DEAL will go down in #TheChallenge history as the best of all time, you’re just not paying attention," another fan wrote.

Many fans of The Challenge were impressed by Tori's gameplay.

"Tori finished first once again, outperforming Cara, Laurel, and Rachel for the third time. Maybe she is actually the GOAT that they have been trying to push for years," a person reacted.

"A lot of people the past few years have said production has kept strong women off the show to have Tori look good. Well, against the strongest female in Challenge History, Tori's finished 1st, 2nd, and 1st in the first three solo daily challenges. She crushed that Mini Final," another netizen commented.

The Challenge 40: Contestants had to cross three checkpoints to reach the finish line

The players had to complete the tasks set at each checkpoint to advance to the next round of the competition. However, the scorching heat of Vietnam hindered the players, pushing them further back on their tracks. Despite the hurdles, Tori progressed at an alarming speed.

The cast of The Challenge had three checkpoints to surpass. At the first checkpoint, they had to dig in the sand to locate a key. After securing the key, they had to race to Checkpoint 2, where they needed to unlock a paddleboard and paddle one mile to the next checkpoint. At the third and final stop, they were challenged to finish a memory match game.

Once that was completed, the cast had to race uphill to the finish line. Tori spent not more than a few minutes looking for the key at the first checkpoint before racing to the other, leaving her competitors behind.

She quickly reached the finish line at 1 hour and 18 minutes. Meanwhile, Laurel and Nehemiah were purged from the show after finishing last.
