Survivor Season 47 aired a new episode on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The episode saw the seven remaining players play a more calculated game after Kyle's elimination last week. Each plotted to blindside the other and, in the process, win immunity to save themselves from eviction. Despite all the planning, Rachel won her second immunity and thwarted all schemes to eliminate her.
Before the immunity challenge, Andy, Genevieve, and Sam joined forces to target Rachel, their biggest threat, and named their plan 'Operation Italy.' The castaways feared Rachel would jeopardize their game since she had an idol and a block vote advantage.
However, their operation failed to come to fruition after Rachel emerged victorious in the immunity challenge. Survivor season 47 fans took to X to congratulate the player on her second consecutive immunity win. Netizens also applauded her for defeating Andy's plan to backstab her.
"RACHEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SECOND INDIVIDUAL IMMUNITY IN A ROW WE HAVE OUR NEW COMP BEAST QUEEN !!" a fan wrote.
"Rachel just won immunity for the 2nd time and still has a idol. She’s queen," another fan commented.
"Her 2 wins are worth more than Kyles' 4 fake ones. This is a REAL immunity beast," a netizen tweeted.
Many Survivor fans praised her gameplay and commended her for becoming one of the strongest contenders in the game.
"Back-to-back immunity wins, thwarted Operation: Italy, kept her idol and advantage safe, strong core position within her majority alliance, being talked about as a huge threat for weeks and nobody can get a shot at her. Queen sh*t x2," a user reacted.
"The fact that everyone thought Sam would be the next physical threat after Kyle went home but it’s Rachel," a person commented.
"Rachel got Sam, Genevieve, and Andy shooked, lol. My favorite player is not going anywhere!!! Get that another immunity win queen!!! Final 6!!!" another fan wrote.
"Rachel’s ability to go from barely escaping her fate to scraping the barrel to being well insulated in a majority alliance (w 2 advantages mind you) seriously needs to be studied. We are witnessing a legendary game player in real time," one X user posted.
Other Survivor fans expressed a similar sentiment.
"RACHEL LAMONT JUST WON INMUNITY AND ENDED THE ITAKHIAN PLAN AND ANDY," a person reacted.
"Btb immunity wins, two advantages, a majority alliance, and a clear path to the end to win. Oh, Rachel don’t MOTHER like this!!!" another netizen commented.
Survivor Season 47 Episode 12: Sam and Genevieve try to build a fake idol
Before the immunity challenge, the castaways participated in a reward challenge that would award the winner an afternoon of Italian food. To win the challenge, the players had to cross a series of obstacles and retrieve balls, which they would then have to land on two perches. Although each Survivor cast member put their best foot forward, Sam outperformed the others and won the reward.
When host Jeff Probst asked Sam to select two other tribemates to join him for the meal at the sanctuary, he picked Andy and Genevieve. During their meal, Andy pitched his plan to target Rachel, stressing the importance of getting her out of the game. After evaluating his idea, Sam and Genevieve agreed to support him.
After returning to the camp, Andy pretended to portray himself as a target and raised suspicion that Genevieve had a secret idol. Meanwhile, Genevieve and Sam tried to use beads from a tree mail to build a fake idol.
When the Survivor players at camp started believing Andy's story, he knew the vote would split, putting Rachel in danger. However, his plan failed to come to fruition.
For the immunity challenge, the castaways had to ace three rounds of obstacles. In the first round, they had to move a ball with a pole while managing a balance beam. The second round required the players to roll two skulls with a double-sided staff. In the final round, the Survivor cast members had to roll three balls onto a target.
Sam and Andy gave tough competition to Rachel, however, she managed to outshine them and land all her balls before them, winning immunity. With that, Andy's 'Operation Italy' failed, while Rachel secured her position in the top six.
Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET only on CBS.
