In Love is Blind UK's reunion special, Emma and Matt Willis asked Tom and Maria about their journey on the Netflix show. Speaking about their wedding day and Tom's interaction with her mother before the nuptials, Maria said she was upset with Tom. She said it made her "angry again."

"Because of his comment afterward about 'I want to raise strong independent daughters.' It just made my blood boil. You met her children, yous ee the type of women we are, and so it just made me mad to see how sweet she was and how welcoming she was," Maria said.

Recalling the interaction, Maria said that the Love is Blind UK star still went on and "indirectly" insulted the women in the reality star's life.

Tom praised Maria's family for allowing him to learn more about himself during the social experiment and thanked her. He said he wished he had treated Maria a "bit better."
