"Crazy" — Beast Games fans react to contestants playing Hide and Seek with Navy SEALs

The debut season of Beast Games released Episode 5 on Thursday, January 9, 2025. It showcased nine players separating from the other contestants and participating in a series of games to win a $1.8 million private island. One of the challenges was Hide and Seek, where the contestants had to hide from Navy SEALs to avoid elimination.

The first player to get caught would not only lose the chance to win the island but also get eliminated from Beast Games altogether. The high-risk challenge became more difficult when Mr. Beast announced that the contestants would hide from Navy SEALs, professionals trained to tackle any terrain.

The contestants put their best foot forward to avoid getting caught, however, not everyone could escape the SEALs. Kelly was the first contestant spotted by the seekers. Although she tried to hide under a layer of twigs, it was not enough to trick the SEALs. With her elimination, the remaining eight contestants advanced to the next stage of the competition.

Beast Games fans took to X to react to the Hide and Seek challenge. While many were surprised to see Mr. Beast invite Navy SEALs to play against the contestants, others questioned the contestants' strategy against them.

Many fans of the show were impressed by the inclusion of Navy SEALs in the Hide and Seek challenge in Episode 5.

Other fans wondered if the SEALs could track the hiding contestants by following the cameramen who recorded the players.

"Are the Navy Seals allowed to use production as strategy? I'd be worried they'd see the cameraman shooting footage of me and know where I am!" one user posted.

What happened during the Hide and Seek game in Beast Games Episode 5?

Before starting the game, Mr. Beast told the players that four Navy SEALs would "hunt" them down and whoever was caught first would get eliminated from the competition series. While speaking to the cameras, Mr. Beast confessed that the SEALs were "the baddest men on the planet" who would not stop searching the 60-acre island until one of the players was found.

One of the SEALs suggested that the players hide further from the base camp since it was considered a "danger zone." However, Mia, known as player 952, contradicted their strategy by hiding near the base camp. Her plan was successful as the SEALs walked past her without noticing her presence.

While Brennan, player 711, hid inside a cave, Harrison, player 441, found a spot under a thick layer of twigs and dry leaves. Although the SEALs came close to player 441's hiding spot, they failed to locate him. Elsewhere, Timothy, known as player 672, covered himself with mud, hoping it would be enough to trick the seekers.

Kelly, player 797, decided to dig a hole and bury herself, whereas Esteban, player 457, strategized to climb a tree to avoid getting caught. After a few failed attempts, the SEALs decided to conduct an F.O.D. Walk down (Foreign Object Detection Walk down), hoping to search the area more efficiently.

As a result of their efforts, they tracked down player 797, who attempted to hide under a thick layer of twigs and hay. Although Kelly was upset about her elimination, she was grateful to have participated in the "fun experience."
