Season 10 of Southern Charm released episode 4, Sew Not Invited, on Thursday, January 2, 2025. It showcased the cast reuniting to celebrate Patricia's birthday, to which Craig was not invited. They used the opportunity to discuss Craig's absence, criticizing his fixation with his business and public image. They further looked down on him for not finding time to meet friends and acquaintances.

Austen and Shep confessed they preferred the old Craig who was not always preoccupied with work. Whitney went so far as to say that Craig was more fun to be around when he had drinking problems.

Shep demeaned Craig's entrepreneurial skills, saying he only posed for promotions while his business partner, Jerry, looked after everything else. The cast members at the dinner table chimed in on the conversation, making fun of Craig's lifestyle. Shep believed that had Craig been honest, he would not have had to spend time polishing his public image.

Southern Charm fans were unimpressed by the cast's discussion about Craig. They took to X to criticize them for looking down on his career and personal life. While some disapproved of Shep's comments about Craig's business, others claimed the cast was jealous of his success.

"The way these men are bashing Craig is crazy. Because we love Craig and can’t stand them. Also what job do these men have?! At least Craig is working for his #southerncharm," a fan wrote.
"lol funny how shep is so bewildered by craig’s work ethic it’s almost like he’s never had to work a day in his life and is a completely spoiled man child," another fan commented.
"So when Craig was a slacker Whitney and Shep gave him a hard time. Now that he is working they give him a hard time. Can’t win with these two. Team Craig!" a netizen tweeted.

Many Southern Charm fans disapproved of the comments made about Craig's work life.

"Craig built something from the ground up. Nothing was given to him unlike other cast members. He has evolved and works hard. Why does everyone have a problem with that?" a user reacted.
"The rich boys are jealous that Craig is self made. When did Shep or Whitney EVER put in a day's work? Craig has built a brand. They could never do that, because they're too busy twisting their silver spoons. They prefer to keep Craig in "his place." Too bad," a person commented.
"This convo, about Craig, is a GREAT example of how your circle can react when you LEVEL UP. YOU CAN'T TAKE EVERYONE WITH YOU. And, that's okay," another fan wrote.
"I can’t believe they are downing Craig for working & making money. Like damn.." one user posted.

Other Southern Charm fans expressed a similar sentiment.

"Whitney, Austen, and Shep seem to think that if Craig’s not blackout drunk every weekday then he’s not fun Maybe they need to GROW UP and find ways to have fun that don’t require alcohol??" a person reacted.
"The jealousy is just seeping out of Shep’s pores. News flash, Shep, you were brutally mean to the old Craig," another netizen commented.

Southern Charm: Austen says his meetings with Craig are more professional than friendly

When the group discussed Craig's absence, Patricia revealed that she did not invite him because she thought he was out of town for work. At that point, Shep said that Craig's absence was not "a big deal," as he expected him to put more effort into being friends with everyone.

Austen added to the conversation, saying he only saw Craig twice a week for shooting their podcast, Pillows and Beer. The Southern Charm cast member added that their meetings were more professional than friendly. While discussing Craig's professionalism, Shep called him a "figurehead," claiming he did not work as hard as Jerry.

While Whitney wondered why Craig was so preoccupied with building his professional image, Shep asked:

"What's the point in getting success if you don't enjoy it with people you're friends with?"

Whitney claimed Craig had become "boring" reworking himself and building his business. Shep agreed, saying he missed the "funny" and "self-deprecating" Craig. During a Southern Charm confessional, Shep expressed that the current Craig was always "hawking product." He also believed that Paige, Craig's partner, now ex, was a "shrewd" businesswoman, who encouraged Craig to focus on work.
