The Challenge season 40 aired episode 3 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. During the segment, the cast let loose and had a toga party. However, the aftermath was turbulent as Josh Martinez and Tori Deal got into an argument about her comments about Nia being involved with both Josh and Kyland.

He confronted the cast member about it and said Nia didn't owe him an explanation. He further criticized Tori and told her he didn't want to be friends with her anymore.

The Challenge season 40 fans took to social media to react to the segment and were critical of Josh. One person wrote on X:

"We're not friends anymore": Josh criticizes Tori in The Challenge season 40 episode 3

In The Challenge season 40 also known as Battles of the Eras, episode 3, Josh felt disrespected after hearing a few cast members talking about Nia. He heard them discussing how Kyland and Nia were together after she had been with Josh the same night. Josh was upset when he realized that one of the people making fun of him was his friend, Tori Deal.

In a confessional, the season 40 contestant commented on the situation and said Nia was "single" and didn't owe him anything. He added that she was free to do whatever she wanted.

"But hearing Tori in the mix, somebody who is supposed to be my really good friend and have my back, that's the one thing that's really starting to piss me off," Josh said.

The Challenge season 40 cast member confronted Deal about her comments and said the whole house was "clowning" him. He told her he could everyone talk and make jokes and that she was supposed to be one of his "best friends."

In a confessional, Tori explained that although she and Josh were good friends, she hurt his feelings in The Challenge USA season 2 when she voted for him. She added that she had hoped things would have gotten better over time.

Tori told the reality star she would be his friend and was ready to discuss things with him if and when he wanted to.

"We're not friends anymore," Josh said.
