"Diabolical"— Love is Blind UK fans criticize Tom for saying no at the altar 

Netflix's Love is Blind UK aired two new episodes this week on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Epsiodes 10 and 11 marked the end of the couples' journeys as they discovered whether love truly was blind.

Episode 10 saw Sabrina and Tom tie the knot while Tom said no at the altar despite promising his partner, Maria's mother that he would care for and respect her daughter.

Watching the segment back, fans were critical of Tom's behavior and his decision to not get married to Maria and voiced their opinions online. One person wrote on X:

Love is Blind UK fans called Tom the "real villain" of the season:

"Tom is the real villain this season, not Cat. No way he was ever going to marry Maria and he knew that all along. #LoveIsBlindUK," a person wrote.

"Tom is actually the villain of this season: 1. Mortgage issue 2. Makeup job comments 3. Interactions with Tash then blamed it on her. Then Cat is the next Villain! #LoveIsBlindUK," a fan commented.

Love is Blind UK fans felt Maria deserved better:

"Tom and Maria. My blood is boiling if I’m being very honest, it’s not because I wanted end game for them it’s because he has been such a c—t with his reasoning. Maria deserves so much better #loveisblinduk," a person wrote.

Love is Blind UK: Tom promises Maria's mom he'll take care of her before the wedding

In Love is Blind UK episode 10, Maria's mother, Fatima approached Tom before his and Maria's wedding. Fatima told Tom that whoever was married to her children, was part of the family and like her children.

She asked the Love is Blind UK star to call her "mom" from "day one." She told him she was there to support and respect him and that she loved him. Fatima added that she was there for him and that she had just one more thing to say to Tom.

She asked him to place his hand over his heart and asked him to "look after Maria" and to "respect her." Fatima told the reality show star it was all she wanted.

"I promise you. I'll do you proud," Tom said.

Chiming in on his conversation with Fatima, the Love is Blind UK star said it was nice to hear Fatima ask him to call her "mom." Tom stated that "mom" was a "really powerful word" to him because of how he was raised.

Since Tom's mother did not attend the wedding, he was grateful to get Maria's mother's approval. He added that Fatima was "warm" and already felt like a "mother-in-law" to him.

Despite the conversation, Tom said no at the wedding and later explained that the Love is Blind UK couple's "conflicting values" would have "continuously" cropped up throughout their relationship.

Fans of the show were angry with Tom's decision to say no at the altar and criticized the cast member online.
