The Masked Singer panelist Ken Jeong correctly guessed Showbird's identity
Showbird was the first singer to step onto the stage. In her clue package, she revealed that she always wanted to "do something good" if she ever appeared "in front of the lights." Consequently, she dedicated her entire life to her work, claiming she "was married to it."
Even then, she felt dissatisfied because she felt like something was missing. She desired the "real love" Ren and Aiel found in Footloose. Her clue further revealed that The Masked Singer contestant recently met with "an old friend bird" who became her "lovebird."
"He's encouraged me to rekindle my first flame, one I gave up for two decades - singing. But his love helped me find that carefree confidence again, which led me here. So tonight, let's hear it for my baby! My lovebird," Showbird said.
The panelists were shown diamond rings of different colors, binoculars, and a purple cupcake for Showbird's visual clues. Soon, she started singing. She sang Deniece Williams' Let's Hear It For The Boy. For her additional clue, the Men in Black brought out a music box that played a hip-hop track. Hearing that, Showbird claimed it was more her "vibe" because it took her back to 1994 when she was "part of a hip-hop empire."
After analyzing all the clues, the panelists began guessing Showbird's identity. Ken felt she was Yvette Nicole Brown, whereas Jenny and Rita thought she was Taraji P. Henson and Sheila E. respectively. Nick announced the voting results to reveal that Showbird had received the lowest votes. As a result, she was eliminated from the race. She pulled off her feathered mask to reveal that she was, in fact, the Community actor Yvette Nicole Brown.
The Masked Singer airs every Wednesday at 8 pm ET only on FOX.
