Season 47 of Survivor concluded on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. In the finale, the three finalists — Sue, Rachel, and Sam — made their pleas to the jury explaining why they deserved the win more than the other. During her statement, Sue confessed that she was 59 and worthy of the winner's title for outlasting other younger contenders.

Throughout the series, Sue strategically claimed that she was in her 40s. However, in the closing chapter of the competitive reality show, she decided to come clean, hoping the jurors would acknowledge her gameplay. She added that she wanted to represent people from her age category and show the world that everything was possible if one put their mind to it.

The contestants praised her journey, while Jeff Probst, the show's host, congratulated her for making it to the last leg of the competition.

However, Survivor fans were not surprised by the disclosure. They took to X to share their opinions on Sue's revelation.

"I mean Sue looks amazing for 59 however she didn’t need to lie," a fan wrote.
"Sue... sweetheart nobody thought you were in your 40s! Let's be real!!!" another fan commented.
"Sue trying to win #Survivor : Hey did you guys know I'm not 45, and today is my birthday? give me $1M please!" a netizen posted.

"Everyone knew you weren’t 40, Sue," a person reacted.

However, one Survivor fan felt otherwise.

"Sue is 59?! WHAT?!?! She was lying about being 45 this whole time? Man, she deserves to win by unanimous decision for such an epic blindside!" a netizen commented.

"A beast in my own right" — Survivor season 47 contestant Sue comments on her performance

Before the winner of Survivor season 47 was determined each finalist made one last speech, reflecting on their journey and convincing the jurors to grant them their votes.

During her speech, Sue said it was her birthday and that she had turned 59. She added that if she won, she would go down in history as the oldest woman to ever win the show.

While reflecting on her performance, the castaway said:

"So, at 59 years old I came in here and I was pretty much of a beast in my own right. I actually won the bucket challenge and could have outlasted the two gentlemen that were there as well. Yes, I could have."

Although Kyle disagreed, Sue was certain she offered tough competition to all. The contestant chimed in on her loyal gameplay, stating that she wanted her five-year-old grandson to see that people could finish first if they played the game the right way.

Jeff commended Sue for making it to the end and revealed that she was part of an exclusive 1% group of female contestants in their 50s who had reached the finish line.

"I just wanted to represent the people of my generation to show them that life doesn't end at 50 or 60 or 70. It's just, you just have to go for it and I just went for it. And I'm very proud of my game," Sue said.

Regardless of the results, Sue said she was grateful for the opportunity. She ultimately finished in third place, while Rachel took the winner's crown.
